CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

My Moondrop Aria from 11/11 sale finally arrived. Initial thoughts: - IEM looks very nice and feels weighty and solid - Cable looks serviceable, I don't think I will upgrade it unless it falls apart - Included case is small and I probably won't use them because I don't want to cause scratches...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

Thanks for the input. I think I will pass on buying another set in sub $100 category. I should be good with Aria + ER2SE combo for a while in terms of IEM. If I want more, I will go to next price bracket of sub $300, Timeless, Kato, Blessing 2 etc. Who knows what will be available in few months...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

From the list, if I didn't go with Aria, I was going to go with Tripowin Mele. Actually kind of on the fence about it right now. I wanted to get a cheap alternate cable but the cable that comes with Mele looks actually decent. So instead of spending $15 ~ 25 on a cable, might get Mele for $50...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

When using IEM, I have been using ER2SE for serious listening and KZ ZSR for casual listening. Decided to upgrade KZ ZSR during the 11.11 sales. It's my first time ordering IEM from China (Aliexpess - Shenzen audio). So I went with budget options (less than $150). Following IEMs were in...

Ordered Aria. Price was decent with 11/11 sale. Hopefully mine doesn't have paint bubble issue. :fingers_crossed: Aria should replace my KZ for casual listening. Will still use ER2SE for serious listening. :)

Oh interesting I wonder if that "Aria" has better paint that doesn't have bubbling issue. Or maybe I go straight to Blessing 2. Only issue going stright to Blessing 2 is this will be my first Moondrop IEM, so it would be bigger hit on the wallet if I don't like them (fit, etc.)

I think Aria paint bubbling could be a batch with bad paint. Starfield paint chipping is more of wear and tear that will eventually happen, but when it happens depends on how careful you are with it.

I was looking forward to 11.11 sale for Moondrop Aria but after reading about paint bubbling issue with it, I'm not sure if I want to get them anymore. Starfield is also an option but it suffers from paint chip issue.

The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value

I have played games with it but I don't play many games that tests sound stage / imaging anymore. Following are the games I have played with it so far, Dota - Don't really need much sound stage / imaging on this one, game is too hectic to notice any improvement from HD598. Slay the Spire - I...

The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value

Had it for few days now. So far so good. Treble is little spicy but nothing I can't handle. Base is cleaner than the HD 598. Will probably get a shorter replacement cable.

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Of the items I have been waiting for Amazon.ca to get stock of, 560S should finally arrive this week. I was thinking of skipping 560S and go straight to 660S but at it's less than 1/3 of the price ($200 vs $650+) I think it's worth the listen.

Is Hifigo any better? If not, I may have to pay a bit more (because I am in Canada) and order from Apos Audio. There is also TTaudio from Canada but didn't read much feedback on them.

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

I don't have any of the headphones you mentioned but if you have all of them with you, why not choose the one you like the most (sound + comfort)? For me, I would never keep a headphone that is uncomfortable no matter how good they sound. I also heard that 6XX does wonders if you plan to...

Still very interested in this headphone but there is no reseller in Canada. My choices are basically order from either Linsol / Hifigo and hope that I get a good one.

Could you share the store link? I was planning to buy from Hifigo/aliexpress/Apos audio but if there is a Canadian one maybe I will support a Canadian store.

Nice price on that T60RP. I think I read your response on the T60RP thread, you got a good one without any creaking or driver rattle issues. Do you have specific use cases for your collection? Do you use 660s for certain genre of music or is it whatever you feel like in the moment? Senn...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Seems to be total hit or miss on that headband. Which do you prefer between R70X or 660s? Based on the reviews R70X - better base extension. - more neutral sound - wider sound stage? - headband - I have a large head so not sure if the headband system will be great - earpads - might become more...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Thanks for the detailed response! I would try Sundara if it was ship and sold by Amazon.ca but they don't, and most audio places in Canada don't have good return policy for opened headphones. I could sell them second hand but I would prefer not to go down that path. I know most people don't...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Adding this to my growing list of headphones that I am waiting for Amazon.ca (ship and sold by Amazon.ca not third party) to get stock of. Lower Price tier (200 ~ 300 CAD) - 560s (waiting since last October - it has some fulfilled by amazon from US seller) - HE-400se (also by US seller import)...

Thank you for a detailed response! R70X is interesting with very polarizing reviews. People who love them seems to swear by it (basically flatter HD600 with better base and comfort), while others don't like it very much for various reasons, including: head-band design, ear cup size, less detail...

The New HD 560S: Linear Acoustics at a Breakthrough Value

While waiting for Amazon.ca to get HD 560s in stock, I ended up refreshing my HD598 with new ear & head pads with cheap ones from Aliexpress (the OEM parts have been out of stock for a while now from Sennheiser.ca) Now my desire to instant buy HD 560s have diminished. Might just buy...
