Just got my replacement headphones back. Very happy. Sending them there and getting them back took exactly 7 days (including weekend).   I noticed that the date of the sticker on the bottom of the box is 2012, so still no slight revision as my last pair was bought in 2012.

I own the srh940 and was looking for a possible open back headphone and the closest one I could find is the 598. I'd give them a listen before you purchase but I don't think you will be disappointed. For a closed back headphone it will be hard to beat these for that air sound.

I completely agree with this. I was in a futureshop and they had both the momentum and the 558. They were attached to the same songs so I jumped back and forth. Also got the Gf to try them and we both agree the 558 is better sounding. More clarity. The momentum sounded a bit congested to me...

So far it is not night and day of a difference, so was it worth $300, currently undecided until I listen to more music and movies and games, but so far I am not overly impressed, I am not getting a placebo effect from this purchase.
