Headphones ~ $300 Classical/Instrumental Music
^I'm not entirely sure, sometimes I think of it as instrumental, but compared to the other genres, it does seem closest co classical. So far, here is where I am at with the Momentums. They have had about 20+ hours of burn in and are now sounding much better. My biggest complaint about these...- ultrasoneman65

Headphones ~ $300 Classical/Instrumental Music
My bad, I forgot to mention; I think I'm going to restrict myself to just closed-back headphones; I'll most likely be taking these with me when I travel. Also, I am starting to notice that on a lot of songs and videos from youtube, the Momentums play certain sounds differently from earcup to...- ultrasoneman65

Headphones ~ $300 Classical/Instrumental Music
Okay, so after talking with my friend for a bit, I decided to go ahead and get the Senn. Momentums which were selling at around $150 when I got them. I'm fine with the fact that they are not the best at classical, because I was also looking forward to having a portable closed pair of cans. I...- ultrasoneman65

Headphones ~ $300 Classical/Instrumental Music
Unfortunately, that does stretch my budget a bit too much. I am once again considering the DT 880 Pro's in addition to the three i mentioned. I originally thought the semi-open cans would not work, but some sources say that there is not much sound leakage, just less isolation which I do not mind...- ultrasoneman65

Headphones ~ $300 Classical/Instrumental Music
Thanks for the replies guys; at this point I have eliminated a few options because I would really prefer to have closed headphones for portable use with an E11 or E17. I'm looking at the NAD Viso HP50, PSB M4U 1, and the Blue Mo-Fi. Can anyone go over their strengths and how they compare among...- ultrasoneman65

Danger in CNT Technology for headphones
Lately I've been looking at some of the headphones offered by JVC, and a lot of their products use carbon nanotube technology. I also recall reading some posts on various websites about how this can be potentially harmful to your ears and is capable of causing great injury. Just curious, have...- ultrasoneman65

Headphones ~ $300 Classical/Instrumental Music
Thanks for the suggestions! I've never had the opportunity to try any of them though, so I was wondering if someone could compare them a bit. I guess the character I would want out of them is a fuller and overall more impactful sound that I guess sounds "bigger." For example, something that...- ultrasoneman65

Headphones ~ $300 Classical/Instrumental Music
Hello, I'm looking for some good headphones around $300 ($400 max perhaps) that work best for classical and instrumental music. I know I made a really similar thread to this about a year ago, I don't remember, but at the time I just decided to stick with my M50's. I know there are a lot of...- ultrasoneman65

Headphones for Epic/Orchestral Music Under/Around $300
Just wanted to mention that I would want the most important aspect of the headphones to be a really musical and acoustic sound for classical and orchestral music (things like movie scores, and overall concert pieces). Just for reference, this is probably something I listen to for about 2 hours...- ultrasoneman65

Headphones for Epic/Orchestral Music Under/Around $300
Interestingly enough, those were the two headphones I was paying attention to before starting this thread. How do they compare with each other? If someone could recommend similar closed headphones (looking for portability with amp), that would be appreciated as well. Thanks.- ultrasoneman65

Headphones for Epic/Orchestral Music Under/Around $300
Hello all, I'm looking for some good headphones for approximately $300 (willing to go a little higher but not too much) for listening to "epic," orchestral music in general. I listen to Two Steps from Hell a lot, so songs like these...I'd want them to be portable with an iPod, but I can get an...- ultrasoneman65

Ultrasone Pro 900...the best for me?
Which one (Ed 9, Ed 8, Sig Pro) produces a tight and punchy and fast noise (NOT NECESSARILY BASS) that can be felt with music like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Fay-HRYTEw?- ultrasoneman65

Ultrasone Pro 900...the best for me?
Are the Signature Pros a nice upgrade. I found them for $800. Do they give a nice fast, tight, punchy bass for edm...and have great overall quality...or could the edition 9 or 8 be better for a nice punch?- ultrasoneman65

Ultrasone Pro 900...the best for me?
And if it helps I tried out some beats by dr.dre. All of them had too much horrible bass that was just muddy and simply...just there. No clarity...no punch...I actually preffered the much less bassier Solos from Luda Cris more because of their much better quality...never knew beats were that...- ultrasoneman65

Ultrasone Pro 900...the best for me?
And could someone give me a comparison for the signature pro, pro2900, and 900. What genres are they good for. What about mids, lows(bass), and highs? Which one produces a tight and punchy and fast noise (NOT NECESSARILY BASS) that can be felt with music like...- ultrasoneman65

Ultrasone Pro 900...the best for me?
so I guess i'm not looking for bass. What cans would give off a tight and punchy sound(not necessarily bass) with edm...maybe something thats very energetic and something that I can feel? Do you think the Sig Pro or Editions would work like this? I tried the hfi 580s...i guess the treble...- ultrasoneman65
