Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
What do the Yaxi pads do to the sound of 75s? Or are they a better fit for the bassier and clampy portapros?- Ruben123

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
Now I have a spare, second hand set and for hygiene reasons I want to buy new pads. On aliexpress 5 or so replacement pads are about $2 and I think I could find some fake yaxi and Sennheiser pads also. I'm quite satisfied with stock pads but I read so many good things about other brands, if I...- Ruben123

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
It still amazes me, it doesn't sound anything special, it just sounds how id like my music to sound. Its like a best kept secret even though its not a secret at all. Wish I'd found it sooner, my wallet would've been thankful- Ruben123

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
This has been a few fantastic days since I've gotten these monsters. They really are fantastic. I'm very aware of new toy effect, that's why I think its fun to keep a few earphones/headphones, once in a time try something new old. These Koss really live up to the hype, regardless of the price...- Ruben123

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
Thanks to you all I today received my 75s. While they are incredible for $15, they're still good but less of a great buy at $32 (priced in Netherlands). They sound a little different from what I thought they'd sound like, but still very very nice. They have more bass than I thought, not sure why...- Ruben123

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
So I want to thank this thread for the 7Hz Zero recommendations. I think I found my end-game IEM for coming time (not really end-game, but it's so good I don't need to look for something else). I have to say though a touch more bass wouldn't have hurt so perhaps the mark 2 is a little better in...- Ruben123

Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
So I was never really fond of the 598. At 5 times the price of the 439 it sounds perhaps 10% better. A bit more defined. They sound quite alike. Never really heard the "great sound stage" of the 598. As it appears, I have big flappy ears and I need to push the 598 as much forward as possible...- Ruben123

If it’s loud enough it’s good enough? (Headphone amps)
Just enjoy your cans. I guess if you're not at >90% of your amp's max volume you're good- Ruben123

Objectivists board room
Good day KinGensai I went first with the 7Hz zero (first edition) which I got for $16. They are so universally praised that I went for one to try. Im also considering the both also universally praised Hifiman RE400 which are $20 now and used to be $100 (at least the last time I was in the market...- Ruben123

Objectivists board room
Happy new year. Even placing 3M feet for lifting the grounding boxes from the ground enhances sound stage and clarity to 'unbelievable levels'. You would really wonder if it is possible to reach the end of the line, where no more enhancements are possible. I don't think there is. In this (well...- Ruben123

Objectivists board room
Ive come across some funny thread in the cables' forum. Different USB cables are being compared of hundreds of dollars each and are even burned in... which causes the bass to settle in and the sound stage to widen. People using "grounding boxes to filter the electricity". Unfortunately it causes...- Ruben123

Not sure how you come up with a W-sound. I found a measurement, although it might be of the predecessor don't think this one will be different. http://www.hifi-forum.de/bild/shanling-m0-frequenzgang_865328.html- Ruben123

Will playing FLAC files wear quickier my DAP and my iem?
What is this kind of bs? Might be the worst claim I've read. Where did you read it? Head-fi? Might be a sales reason for the ongoing "ungraditis". " you have your dap already for a year? You need to upgrade because it's wearing down! The sq is dropping rapidly, you do not want that, do you?"- Ruben123

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
Bumping my earlier question: after all these years are they still the giant killers? There is so much china-fi. I find it hard to believe (but I think I do) that these $20 sound like or better than a good $200 pair of Sennheisers. Point is I have both HD598 and HD439 and lots of China earphones...- Ruben123

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.
So been reading this topic intensively. I've known these overhyped threads particularly on the China edge of headfi, but these Koss seem to be universally praised. Not only here. In a separate topic I'm looking for a airier, more lifelike vocal presentation than my HD598 (and 439, which has same...- Ruben123

Help needed for new headphones
Hi all, Essentially I'm looking for headphones that sound like my speaker system (Jamo 704, if you know it, probably not). What ever music I listen to, if I close my eyes, I could picture the music happening in front of me. You could almost touch the mids. Its sickening how real they sound. Very...- Ruben123

The discovery thread!
@ everybody owning or having owned the Hifiman RE-400 How do they compare (@ $19) to their Chinese $19 counterparts? Is it worth the hassle to get them to ship to EU (adds quite a lot of shipping costs)? Just ordered the &hz Zero.- Ruben123

[REVIEW] HifiMan RE400 ‘Waterline’ – The New Reference
Is there any way to get them to ship to Europe? They're only $19 right now, and I've been wanting them since they were $99 and I couldn't afford them. Or are there better or somewhat comparable IEMs now? Coincidentally just ordered the 7Hz Zero @ $16 which seem to be quite flat also.- Ruben123
