The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Quote: DH-2 sounds very unnatural for music to me and probably many others on here, but I believe audio is purely subjective and understand that some people can only enjoy their music with unique EQ settings. I use DH-2 strictly for games though... Can't play BF3 any other way. ...- deusofhearts

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Installed 3x LME49860NA. Didn't really take any notes on how the stock opamps sounded, but I "feel" as though the LME49860 seem harsher with more sibilance. Could just be me being more analytical towards the music.- deusofhearts

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Quote: Someone in the thread mentioned LME49990NA, but I haven't been able to find a review on them. The high cost (~$18 each) probably has something to do with that.- deusofhearts

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Two different versions of this available on some websites. One with MFG Part # 90-YAA0C0-0UAN00Z that costs $10 less than the other with MFG Part # XONAR ESSENCE STX. Any differences? Is the cheaper one OEM?- deusofhearts

Sennheiser IE8 Impressions Thread
Hey guys, I'm currently pairing the IE8's with a Sony Walkman X1060. I love it, but I'm getting some hiss. It's not too bad but it's very noticeable during quiet passages or when I listen at low volumes. I'm Thinking about picking up these these but was wondering if they'd degrade SQ.. or if...- deusofhearts

Sennheiser IE8 Impressions Thread
Burning these babies in as we speak, currently at the 40 hour mark. Nothing fancy, just straight out of my newly acquired Sony X1061. I've read some comments of the Sony player benefiting from burn-in and although I'm skeptical, it can't hurt right? The IE8's already sound fantastic at the 40...- deusofhearts

Just bought a sony X1061 $280 shipped!
placed an order yesterday, but I'm pretty sure this will get canceled since it's screaming price mistake. This model isn't exactly popular with the slickdeals/fatwallet community so there's a super slim chance sony might just let it slide. I've been through too many order cancellation deals that...- deusofhearts

I'm a little more frivolous with my money than most on here. To me $300 for the X's SQ alone is well worth it. Given the opportunity to buy an iPod nano for $20 vs an X for $300 under the condition that I cannot resell or regift, I would still go for the X in a heartbeat. Especially after...- deusofhearts

Whats the best way to prevent scratches on your Ipod Touch
InvisibleShield is terrible. The entire shield is very thick, feels like an orange peel and turns yellow after a few months. I use PhatomSkinz on my Palm Pre and love it. It's a thinner version of the Invisible shield but provide the same protection without the orange peel feeling. It also...- deusofhearts

I have my hands ON the Sony X1000 Walkman - Impressions / Discussions
Okay just finished all 170 pages of this thread. I picked up my X last week from ebay. I scored the x1050 model for a mere $207 shipped and the unit was virtually pristine so no complaints about the price here My experience is limited to owning UM2s 3 years ago and SE530s sometime last year...- deusofhearts

JH13 Pro all the way! I have been following the UM3X appreciation thread and read virtually every post since it was literally going to be my next purchase. Recabling a UE SuperFi 4
Hey guys, I was cleaning my cupboard and stumbled across an old pair of UE SuperFi 4vi that was given to me last year. It looks like the connection between cable and the right earphone is coming off as well as the jacket near the 3.5mm adapter. Kinda strange since they haven't seen more than an...- deusofhearts

iPod shuffle or Nano to power Westone 3's?
I don't know how concerned you'll be with focusing on the fidelity of the music while exercising but if you are, the Sansa clip+ has great SQ for it's size and cost.- deusofhearts

Whats the best way too keep the Shures SE cables healthy?
Could cable cracking be due to excessive heating and cooling? For example sharp changes of weather over a period of time possibly? Kind of worries me, but shure's excellent warranty should make up for it- deusofhearts
