++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

I've got a hopefully easy question.   I've got a pair of DT880 250ohm's. I've had them since 2004, used them everyday. They're the only constant piece of gear through many different amps, headphones, sources, etc. Unfortunately, they've got a grattle/rattle that seems to be more or less...

    Best usb DAC under $300?

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

Well, I've had my Beyerdynamic DT880's since.. 2005, I believe. They were the first real pair of headphones I bought after some Senn 595's and I've been using the 880's daily ever since.   Tragically, the right driver is finally starting to die, and I suppose it's time for new headphones...

Any ideas on where to get new DT880 ear pads?

My old DT880's (2005 editions, I believe. Straight cord, flat ear cups, came in a huge padded box) ear pads are looking very, very old and worn. Who sells replacement soft pads (not the leather ones)? More specifically, do these fit the older DT880's like mine?

Best desktop nearfield speakers for around $750

If you're looking for pleasing and warm, basically any studio monitors aren't what you're looking for. I used Yamaha HS80M's for about 2 years, and then Mackie HR 824 mkII's. They're very revealing, and you really can't listen to them quietly. Nearfield in the recording arts world isn't as...

    UPCOMING Little Dot DAC

I'm seriously considering this. I'm selling my upgraded Zero DAC because I never used it, but this would be really nice. I decided to sell the Zero because I did't want or need a built in headphone amp in the DAC. Plus the case will match my Little Dot MkIII match

How did you more successful people mount the heatsinks? The ones I have (the right part number, I swear!) only have little metal lugs protruding from the bottom. Nothing to screw or bolt to.

Very cool. I just ordered some tubes and all the rest off of Mouser. Any recommendations on a power supply project to compliment it?

Should I jump on these B&W 602's and How would I power them, anyway?

I just grabbed a pair. I run them through my lovely vintage kenwood amp. Do it, just.. Do it.

Swans M200, M200MKII or S200A? I need collegefi computer speakers!

Minor bump, but I believe I'll probably end up with the M20MkII. The really important thing is.. Where on earth can I order them?

Swans M200, M200MKII or S200A? I need collegefi computer speakers!

Space is sadly an issue. I shouldn't have bought the HS80M's in the first place. At home, I'm in a relatively small room, so the 5" on any of the swans will be better for me. Here at college, I'm in an even smaller room, and I have WAY less deskspace. In other news, the HS80M's ARE excellent...

Swans M200, M200MKII or S200A? I need collegefi computer speakers!

Alright, I'm at college, I have a Motu MkII 828 as my interface (I was into recording before I had to come here), I listen to my headphones (Beyerdynamic DT880) with a Headroom Total Bithead) constantly, and I need some damned good speakers that will fit on my rather small desk. I've narrowed...

Anyone ever seen organic(or MSG-less) ramen?

Hmm... Anyone in Korea want to buy a variety, send them to me, I tell you which is awesome, you buy a metric ton and I pay you for it? Or perhaps just tell me some brand names? There's a forum for everything, somewhere there HAS to be a forum dedicated to ramen.

Anyone ever seen organic(or MSG-less) ramen?

I've begun a quest. I am a lover of Maruchan Oriental flavor ramen. However, it's full of MSG and sodium and bad things and I haven't had any in years, but oh do I miss the stuff. SO! Does anyone happen to know if a MSG lacking or less sodiumfullness version of this tasty breakfast, lunch...

    overkill... (56k warning)

The idea behind NS-10's is that the monitors you are mixing on are supposed to be your neutral point. You cannot account for the wide range of systems that the music you're mixing will be played on. The NS-10's are usually used a a refrence for what the "smiley face curve" systems will sound like.
