i dunno...the serial for my k701 is like 5000+...assume it did start from 0001...so there are more than 5000+ of k701's... so i think just a few trades in the for sale forum that doesn't mean anything... and it seems some of sellers selling their k701 due to personal preference or gear...

yep i used FedEx Canada too. i received the parcel 3 business days after i got the shipping notice.

if k701 and k601 both share the same structure, i think u can get some ideas what possibly makes the rattle sound inside from these k601 recable pictures. http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=162673 are the cup and steel band sticking together tight? anyways i suggest that...

i like short comply tips...but u have to get new pairs periodically as the comply tips will get dirty and harder gradually...so it will cost u some money using comply tips in long term... so i am using modded shure biflanges...it's washable and the sound is not bad...
