I did the cable switch on my super.fi and the cable fits snugly on both sides.

I got an intermediate gain of 2.8 as a compromise for low/high impedance phones. According to Norm the low gain is 2 and normal gain is 4.

I went with the refurbished 5G 60gb as opposed to the 5.5G. I use the video minimally but playback and screen brightness adjustment makes it fully functional for me. A lot more music/$$ and video/game capability if I want it. I think its a great deal. I can live without the search function too.
