Best burgers in America
I like the American Grill in Londonderry, Vermont. I get the 1/2 pound angus burger with Blue Cheese and grilled onions. It has a great roll that lasts until the last bite. http://www.linkvermont.com/restauran...enu_012006.pdf- mackenzo

Ground loop hum with iPod
Yes, the hum is only when plugged in. After some rough playing around with the dock, I seem to have gotten rid of the hum. What does that mean? Ken Quote: Originally Posted by Skylab So if you run them both on batteries (NO AC connection at all), there is no hum, regardless of...- mackenzo

Ground loop hum with iPod
It happens when the Hornet is plugged into the AC only. It can be made better or worse by fiddling with the dock connector (either Turbo's or Sik). Thanks, Ken Quote: Originally Posted by Skylab Do you have your Dock plugged into either AC or your computer? If both your iPod and...- mackenzo

Ground loop hum with iPod
Any idea how much an Apple repair for this might cost. I am out of warranty, and wonder if it is cheaper to just buy a new one. Thanks, Ken Quote: Originally Posted by bigshot There is probably something wrong with the dock port on your iPod. You need to take it in for servicing...- mackenzo

I posted on the Apple Discussion board. I, too, will let you know if I get an answer. Ken Quote: Originally Posted by ServinginEcuador With my HeadRoom Home and either an iPod Nano or Video I also get a hum that won't go away. I even lifted the ground on the amp, but it's still...- mackenzo

Ground loop hum with iPod
I am using the audio output from the dock port of my iPod Photo as an input to a portable amp (Ray Samuels Hornet), and then to my headphones. In this configuration, I get a severe ground loop hum when I touch the metal part of the iPod. I have four iPods, but it only happens with the Photo...- mackenzo

Hornet ground loop when charging
Tried it, but that didn't get rid of the problem. Thanks, Ken Quote: Originally Posted by mrarroyo Does the charger have a three prong or a two prong. If only a two prong and if they are the same size put the prongs in the other holes. That is reverse them an thus the polarity...- mackenzo

Hornet ground loop when charging
It is only happens with my iPod Photo (60 GB) as a source and only when connected via the dock. It does not do it when connected through the headphone jack, but it does do it through the dock with either my Turbo dock connector or the Sik dock connector. Ken- mackenzo

Hornet ground loop when charging
i have been burning in my Hornet, using iPod > Turbo Dock > Turbo IC > Hornet > HF-1. I just noticed that, when I am using the battery charger, I get a very loud ground loop hum if I touch the metal body of the iPod. What is wrong here? Thanks, Ken- mackenzo

Great album. Another one to try in this R&B returning vein is Bobby Purify's "Better to have It": "Bobby Purify a.k.a. Ben Moore, whose rich, melodious voice enhanced later hits by the duo James & Bobby Purify, has come out of retirement with the help of producer and songwriter Dan Penn and... -
Tivoli "Model" CD Player
i have the clock radio, very nice sound and an easy to set, analog alarm. I recently added the stereo speaker. it is a very clever idea because it adds a second clock and alarm; one for each night table! I thought about added the subwoofer and CD player, maybe later. ken- mackenzo

Headphile HF-1 Big Decision
I sent in my HF-1's to Larry for the Headphile mod. My big decision is the terminator. I have a Grado 1/8 to 1/4 adapter from my SR-60 and I have a Grado 1/4 to 1/8 adapter (with short cable). So what do I order on my Headphiles? I will probably use them more frequently as a portable setup with...- mackenzo

amp that doubles as a preamp?
You could use a Portal Panche with the line outs to your tube monoblocks and the internal amp (very good) to power speakers in another room. It has a great headphone section. They sell for $1800 or $1300 as B stock from Joe Abrams, the owner and a great guy...- mackenzo
