Never heard the ZO2 but I have heard the fiios and while they do add bass it might not be as much as youd enjoy from what I've heard about the ZO.

I have the pioneers with a fiio e7. I was in your exact situation and wanted more out of the hdj's. Didn't notice a difference with my iPhone big enough to justify the combo together. Still own both but I will be selling the pioneers sometime down the line. Don't get me wrong they are great...
