Cayin iHA-6 - US Tour and reviews
Hi, I use my Hugo2 + iHA6 to drive the Heddphones which sound brilliant powered by the Cayin. I just moved to the bay area earlier this year from Asia and Cayin/Zeppelin Audio were kind enough to send me a conversion kit to turn the amp from 220V to 110V but recommended I get it done by a...- alokjuyal

Cayin iHA-6 - US Tour and reviews
Hi, I am trying out a Cayin iHA6 (fed from a Hugo2 via RCA) with my HEDDphones (32ohms) and Sony MDR Z1Rs (64ohms). I do not know for sure the current setting - High or Low. Any suggestions how they are to be used ?- alokjuyal

HEDD Announces HEDDphone With AMT Technology
Hi, am planning on ordering the HEDDs and was wondering if my Hugo 2 would be sufficient to drive it or I need more amping? Thanks in advance- alokjuyal

JH Audio Layla vs. JH Audio Roxanne
I have had the Roxannes for many years and love them. Haven’t really moved on from them. Would be interested to hear what you think of the A12t compare.- alokjuyal

They might be Kings - High-end Headphone Shootout
Hi, can someone share sound impressions comparing the Empyrean with Z1Rs, any Stax or HD800/800s? I have not had the chance to audition them yet and trying to understand their sound. Happy to see this thread come back to life -
SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
I have mine on prioritize SQ from an iPhone XS Max, iPad Pro and Win10 AIO and haven't experienced any dropouts. I walk around usually within 10 ft and no issues. I have a friend who has the same issue on a Plantronics headset (dropping, breaking up) and I have the same headset and no issues. We...- alokjuyal

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
Have been listening to my XM3 off Onkyo HF player via Hugo and cable to the XM3 but with ANC on and comparing it to the ZR1s also from the same Hugo. A/B on the 2 phones was comparing 2 different genre with Thunderclouds (Tidal HiFi) and Sultans of Swing (HF Player 16/44 FLAC upscaled to PCM) I...- alokjuyal

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
so today the XM3 sounds good after a few hours of run-in. You were right @Sonic Defender they do have some similarity with the Z1R sound signature once the bass is dialed down. The Onkyo HF player seems to have been updated and in the EQ I haven’t yet found a custom setting but many many...- alokjuyal

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
Thanks @Sonic Defender! I have the paid HF player for when I listen to my FLAC/DSD/ALAC files on the go and agree that the EQ on that is great vs the "hammer" fix with 400Hz on the Sony app which as you point out aren't really the problem (I did look at your posts on the FR curve). But that...- alokjuyal

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
So after following this thread for a while, I took the plunge and picked up the XM3 soon as they came back in stock here. Out of the box thought they sounded muffled (even with my iPhone Xs-max turn up 70% on volume) so have plugged them into the iPad on a wired connection and letting them run...- alokjuyal

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
Before the Z1R, Sony wasnt really on my consideration set despite some good headphones from them over the years. I had been looking out for a good set of closed back headphones to use on travel and the LCD-XC had not done it for me. The Z1Rs when I first tried them came as a complete surprise...- alokjuyal

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
@Sonic Defender thanks for the response and will try those EQ adjustments on the Z1Rs to get the hang of them before the mx3 arrive. I like Onkyo HF as well especially for letting me forget format and bit-rates while giving me an easy to use interface. Will share what I find back here. Thanks again- alokjuyal

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
Hi, open to some advice. I need to add to my headphones something that is more suitable for travel and quick listening at home or work. I currently use the JH Audio Roxanne + dragonfly red + iPhone for the gym or portable use, Stax desktop rig via Hugo 2 for desktop listening and Sony Z1R + Hugo...- alokjuyal

True, everything about it screams 'gimmick'! But its new and so someone must give it a shot :-) I am surprised I haven't seen any posts. All compares on the "reviews" is vs the sports cans. Nothing serious yet- alokjuyal

Sennheiser HD820
A couple of weeks ago, I happened to be staying in a hotel right by the San Francisco Sennheiser flagship store and so swung by for an audition with a friend (who isn't nutty about equipment but loves music). I brought along my Z1Rs, Roxannes, Hugo2 and Dragonfly red (all of these I usually...- alokjuyal
