Get the right equipment with a 200$ budget
As I've already said, you'll need a dual 1/4" to RCA cable to attach the Behringer Line Out to the JBL's. If you don't know the difficulty of doing this I suggest you do some more research into what you're buying first. Whether it can attach to your TV depends on your TV.- Everrr

Get the right equipment with a 200$ budget
The Behringer will work by itself if you're using powered speakers, like the JBL's that have been suggested. But not if you're getting passive speakers, like the Daytons. If you go for the Behringer + JBL's, you should get an RCA to dual 1/4" lead so you're taking the line out from the...- Everrr

Get the right equipment with a 200$ budget
Yep, that'd work too of course. Then you'd just need a 3.5mm to dual 1/4" I believe (not used the JBL's). Personally, I like the option of switching speakers between systems, which is why I'd get a dedicated amp and non-active speakers, but each to his own - and the JBL's sure have stellar...- Everrr

You could get a Behringer UCA 202 to use as a DAC and feed that into a Lepai LP 2020+ That'd only take you to about $50, then get a pair of stereo speakers of your choosing.- Everrr

Post Rock recommendations for a newbie
Here is a pretty good place to start: http://mu4chan.wikia.com/wiki/Post-Rock_Essentials Compiled with recommendations from the /mu/ (music) board at 4chan. I agree with TJ Elite's recommendation of GY!BE, that's pretty quintessential post rock. The Talk Talk albums (Laughing Stock and... -
My first portable rig ..
When you say 'portable', are you planning to use this rig on the move, or just transport it and use it in private? Because if you're using this on the move, then the X1 isn't really appropriate since it's open back, so you'll hear outside noise and everyone around will be able to hear you're...- Everrr

Help needed for a newbie - is there a toddler-proof MP3 out there?
How do you mean 'fit'? As in the same plug? Pretty much all the headphones you'll find for your purpose will have a 3.5mm plug, which is 'standard' headphone out, like you have on a Nexus, iPod, Sansa Clip, Smartphone etc. The other 'standard' size is 1/4", which you might more typically...- Everrr

Help needed for a newbie - is there a toddler-proof MP3 out there?
It replaces the standard software on a number of mp3 players with a software called 'Rockbox', which gives a lot of options in terms of customisation of looks and sounds (equalizers etc.) and supports pretty much every audio file type under the sun.- Everrr

Logitech Z2300 to DAC, how?
Well you have the right connector (RCA to Female 3.5mm), so it should work. I was going to say if they Yulong works and the Logitech both work independently, then the issue is with the cable itself... But you say the cable works? How have you tested the cable?- Everrr

In need (want) of veteran advice/wisdom/reccomendations
Yes anything can be converted to flac (as long as it's lossless to begin with). You can rip a CD to flac the same way that you could rip it to wav or mp3. flac would just take less space than it's wav equivalent.- Everrr
