Need help: ATH-m30 vs m35 vs m40
Hi all, I was considering picking up one of these headphones as they are in my price range to replace brainwavz hm5 that broke. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these models because it doesn't seem like much difference to me. Should I just go for the m40s? Thanks in advance.- audiogamer

I have some light static too that is noticeable, for the most part, only at the beginning and end of tracks. Using Foobar w/WASAPI and FLAC Files, experience some static on both my creative xtreme music and asus xonar essence stx through my brainwavz hm5's. Essence STX + Fischer Audio FA-003/FA-011 Help.
Quote: I just hooked up an xonar essence stx yesterday in my comp and am using the brainwawz hm5 (which is the same headphone as the fa-003). Disclaimer: I am new to the audiophile world. Understand that anything I hear is a huge improvement over what I've been hearing in the...- audiogamer

ASUS Xonar Phoebus announced.
Quote: you could run an spdif cable and use the 6.3mm input with a converter, would that work? That said, I doubt you would be able to get effects like cmss3d to work like this. That would be the only reason I would do it. Although it may be nice to make use of the amplifier on the asus...- audiogamer

Quote: Is that possible? I do have the x-fi i/o front panel which has an spdif output I believe... If so, would I be able to utilize functions such as cmss3d through the asus card?- audiogamer

ASUS Xonar Phoebus announced.
I literally just ordered an asus xonar essence stx yesterday. I did so to make my music sound great as I also have an x-fi platinum (xtreme music) installed for gaming. Am I going to regret my decision? Should I bite the bullet and pay the restocking fee and wait for this?- audiogamer

Hi All, I'm looking into ordering an xonar essence stx as I just got brainwavz hm5s and want them to sound great. So here are my questions: 1. Does the card have a front panel connection that is amplified? 2. I have a cheap set of 2.1 speakers that I use when i'm not listening...- audiogamer

Brainwavz HM5 question
thanks guys, after my prior post, the thought occurred to me to try to reverse the cups and see if I heard a difference. Turns out when I reverse them, I get the same effect. Must be my ears. Never knew I had a problem, hell of a way to find out. The difference is very slight. I have...- audiogamer

Looking for an upgrade to an older x-fi extreme music soundcard. Considering Forte and Titanium HD, budget is less than ~$150. Gaming and positioning is important. Needs built in features such as headphone amp/DAC. Would like future 5.1 or 7.1 expandability (analog, if...- audiogamer

Xonar DG vs Auzentech Forte
Headphone amp is definitely a big part. I like the idea of switching to PCIe as it will be more convenient to me for the future (although this is not super necessary). I also saw that the X-fi forte is at a good price, probably is a lot better than my prior gen x-fi platinum and will last longer...- audiogamer
