NEW HiBy R4
Anyone have a recommendation for a travel case for the R4? As in something to toss into my bag that protects both sides of the device. Space for an IEM is a plus but not a requirement. The TPU case included is fine for pocket duty, but I'd prefer something that covers the screen as well- RynoWeiss

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future
I got a Fiio M6 to pair with my Drop THX Panda. Running LDAC in 990kbps works fine with internal storage, but with the Wifi on, that mode is basically unusable. Nonstop stuttering. Is this normal? Is it true of the other players in Fiio's line?- RynoWeiss

HiFiMAN: Here to stay or FOTM?
I think it's pretty clear that the company is here to stay. Concerning the products though, as someone who just recently ordered the HE-500s, I have a little bit of anxiety about whether the company will return to its old ways of rapid-fire product releases. The reason I pulled the trigger...- RynoWeiss

V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
Somewhat off-topic question, but since there isn't a topic about V-Moda Faders: Is there any difference between the Faders and the Faders VIP other than the VIP coming with BLISS v3 instead of BLISS v2 fittings?- RynoWeiss

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi "HD USB" vs "Surround 5.1 Pro USB"
I know this isn't terribly helpful, but if you have to split an RCA output to go to a subwoofer, in all likelihood you're considering buying the wrong subwoofer. An ideal setup would run the signal into inputs on the subwoofer, and then using a crossover, reroute the signal through outputs also...- RynoWeiss

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi "HD USB" vs "Surround 5.1 Pro USB"
The HD actually has a nicer DAC, and the headphone port is amplified (which may or may not be a good thing depending on your headphones. Personally, it boosts the bass on my low-impedance Klipsch Image Ones so much I have to equalize it down, but when I do, the clarity is fantastically improved...- RynoWeiss

Budget subwoofer to pair with BX5as
I just got my BX5a Deluxes and absolutely love them, but I do notice that the base has a dramatic falloff in the deep range, so I'm now looking for a sub to pair with them. Obviously the M-Audio SBX10 is ideal, but damn is it expensive (3x what I paid for the speakers.) Is there any decently...- RynoWeiss

Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround or X-Fi HD
It's unfortunate that they don't have a top end product that has all of the features, like they do with internal cards. I can maybe see why they'd leave gaming and 5.1 out of the Audiophile-aimed card, but for the life of me I can't think of why they wouldn't even offer an option with both 5.1...- RynoWeiss

Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround or X-Fi HD
X-Fi surround supports 5.1 and comes with software that optimizes DVD movie audio decoding, but lacks 96KHz audio decoding and EAX 5.0. Get this if you want to use 5.1 speakers. X-Fi HD is the audiophile card. Only supports stereo, so no 5.1, but it does include 24bit 96KHz playback, as...- RynoWeiss

M-Audio BXa5 and AV40
After some thought, I think I'll go with my instinct and get the BX5as. $150 seems to be a steal for them.- RynoWeiss

M-Audio BXa5 and AV40
I know this seems like a topic that's been run through a ton of times, but after a lot of Googling I can't find a satisfying answer. I'm looking to get some nice speakers for Christmas to go with an X-Fi HD (the USB version, since I have a laptop.) Since the BX5 D2s came out, the price on the...- RynoWeiss
