I don't find it 'bloated' - it's strong, but if you're not into bass then I guess you wouldn't enjoy it. Maybe they'll just slap some shiny 'granny's ashtray' rainbows on the faceplates and jack up the price...

I've read this whole thread...and every other HEK / Utopia LCD etc thread I could find....I'm coming out of posting retirement to ask: I own the K1000 (great soundstage and detail...lacks bass slam)  the HD580/600  & the D7000  (among many other things including a 400i I like quite a bit)  ...

Hi, does anyone have the same problem?  I just can't get it untwisted from the Y to the phones!  It "rolls" and twists.... and I feel like I"m the only one.  I did buy them used,  and there is a strange spot that looks like it was frayed and repaired.... maybe I got some one's cat-bitten pair? ...

LIke the title says, I lined it into my canamp... blah.... and straight into Senns or Denon sounds bad too.... Is there a setting in Rockbox to activate the Line Out?... At first I thought it was bad cables, but the HF jack just sounds good... even into the canamp.... I'm confused.

So the Chain is source -> DAC -> Canamp -> (power) amp ?       I read somewhere that the output of the canamp is unattenuated and therefore can't be used as a preamp....   Thanks for the reply though.. it seemed far-fetched to me too, but I SWEAR I read it somewhere!
