Comfortable, immersive closed headphones for $500 max
Oh yeah, I like them a lot, they're arguably the best headphones I've owned so far. One issue I'm noticing now, however: It didn't seem to be doing this at first, but now it seems like the balance is "off" when listening to certain songs? Like, certain really high sounds will only come through...- arch5

Comfortable, immersive closed headphones for $500 max
My ATH-MSR7b arrived. Here are my initial thoughts. Comfort When I first took these things out of the box, I looked at them and thought "oh god, these earcups are way too small, this isn't going to be comfortable." They look small, but after expanding the headband a bit they actually fit...- arch5

Comfortable, immersive closed headphones for $500 max
I have not, I'll have to take a look. Honestly there's so many choices at this point, the Audioquest Nightowl still seems like it would fit my needs best, though I worry about the unique "dark" sound people describe ruining the generally upbeat treble electronica I listen to. The MDR-MA900s...- arch5

Comfortable, immersive closed headphones for $500 max
Those look like they would fit my needs almost perfectly; but unfortunately they're discontinued and I can't find them new anywhere for $500 tops. There are a couple people selling them new for >$500 but I can't justify the price knowing that they retailed for way less before being discontinued.- arch5

Comfortable, immersive closed headphones for $500 max
Looking for something to replace my Sony MDR-MA900s that I got like 7 years ago. They sounded great, but they weren't very comfortable. Looking to go with closed headphones this time around. Priorities (from most important to least): 1. Comfort, as these will be worn for 10+ hours at a time at...- arch5

Looking for new (full-size) headphones
In late 2011, I made a thread asking for headphone recommendations here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/570633/headphones-for-gaming I ended up going with the Sennheiser HD598, which was a great choice, I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, in August 2012 I accidentally broke them, and since then I've...- arch5

Sound Card for Gaming, and Music
I do have some games that utilize EAX, such as Thief. I never knew that you could enable directsound3D in source games with that command, neat. Should this make it worth purchasing an X-Fi based card? I'm sure it will still be fine playing music.- arch5

Sound Card for Gaming, and Music
I'm currently using a Sennheiser PC360. My motherboard onboard audio is fine, but I would like something better, more immersive. Could somebody recommend me a sound card suitable for gaming, and listening to music? Price really isn't a problem here.- arch5

Sennheiser HD598 + Microphone?
About a year ago, I made a thread here after my generic logitech headset had broken, asking for recommendations for new headphones: http://www.head-fi.org/t/570633/headphones-for-gaming. I was recommended the Sennheiser HD598, which I bought, and I've had ever since then, and I love it. It's...- arch5

Headphones for Gaming
Alright. After looking through those, the Sennheiser HD598 looks like the right one (as for price) and they look comfortable. I guess I'll go for those. One other thing I should mention is that I do not have a sound card or headphone amp. Just motherboard integrated 3.5mm audio jacks...- arch5

Headphones for Gaming
So my generic logitech headset broke, and I'm looking for an upgrade - headphones that are good for gaming. I'm not looking for anything absolutely amazing, I just want headphones that sound great and you can hear a lot of detail, environment sound effects, etc. "Immersive", I guess...- arch5
