Review: ZERO 24 BIT/192KHz DAC/Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp
Has anyone had odd pops and crackles in the sound from their Zero (both headamp and preamp)? I've been burning the Zero in for around 12hrs a day since it arrived last week, without any problems until this afternoon. About an hour ago, I noticed some strange artifacts in the sound. These are...- MinotaurUK

Review: ZERO 24 BIT/192KHz DAC/Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp
I was hoping it might emulate the pre-outs on the back when the headamp section is disabled, to enable connection to two separate amplifiers when the Zero is being used solely as a DAC. Alas, it would seem it doesn't seem to behave that way. Basically, I want to keep my LD MkIVse and MkV...- MinotaurUK

Review: ZERO 24 BIT/192KHz DAC/Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp
Has anyone tried using the headphone output in preamp mode as a second line out (to a second amp)? Connecting the headphone output to an amp does seem to yield a signal - but I'm not sure what signal path it's taking.- MinotaurUK

Uninterruptible Power Supply?
This surprises me. One would naturally expect a true inline UPS (with buck/boost) to have a "cleaning" effect on the power supply rather than a negative effect. Has anyone tried their audio kit being the only devices plugged into a UPS? (i.e. no other kit connected to the UPS) -
Anyone imported Little Dot Amp to EU?
I did promise an update when the MKIVse and MKV arrived. Both arrived yesterday in separate internal boxes, but bound together into one package. I guess combined weight was probably around 15kg with all the packaging involved. The package left Little Dot on the 15th, and it arrived here in...- MinotaurUK

Penchum, as someone with both the LD MKIVse and MKV, do you feel the OPA627 is still the best choice (383 pages later ) when using the Zero as a preamp for the LD amps?- MinotaurUK

Preferred burn-in strategy?
Greetings all, Is there a "preferred" method for burning in audio equipment? I had a new pair of headphones arrive today and I have a new amp arriving at the end of the week. I'd quite like to get as much burn-in time in on the headphones as soon as possible. Obviously I can just leave the...- MinotaurUK

Anyone imported Little Dot Amp to EU?
I ordered a MKIVse and a MKV from Little Dot a couple of days ago, so when they arrive, I'll post and let everyone know whether tax was charged or not. A random aside if anyone's in a similar position to me and looking to order both MKIVse and MKV from them - David will combine carriage on...- MinotaurUK

Upgrade-itis has kicked in.. suggestions for a new amp?
Greetings all, It's been a couple of years since I last visited Head-Fi, and that left my wallet damaged to the tune of a Corda HA-2 and a pair of HD650s, both of which I still own. Anyway, had a few days holiday recently and took the time to catch up on the goings-on in the Head-Fi world...- MinotaurUK

AudioTrak Prodigy 7.1lt with dedicated HP out
Has anyone managed to get this card running under Linux? I've spent the last few hours banging my head against a brick wall trying to get ALSA to work with the damned thing. It hates me. I keep getting errors about the firmware ID not being recognised by the ALSA driver. Any thoughts?- MinotaurUK

Small Amp for HD650's
@Apocalypse_HD650: I recently posted a thread about the Gilmore Lite vs. Corda HA-1 MkII, and someone had the good sense to point out that I'd overlooked the tax issue when importing stuff from the US. I worked out that once VAT had been added, the Gilmore + PSU came in at just over $600, whilst...- MinotaurUK

Corda HA-1 MkII vs. Gilmore Lite w/ PS
Thanks for the replies thusfar. Crossfeed isn't really a factor - primary source will be computer-based, and foobar/winamp have their own quite reasonable crossfeed plugins. Cost update, taking tax into consideration: HA-1 MkII: $485 (inc. shipping, from what I can gather from Jan's website)...- MinotaurUK
