the thing about hm5/jaycar/lindy/yoga/fa 003 is you need like a 100 hours of burn in until the sound really settled.. somehow the headphone's sounds signature can change quite alot during the burn in process.   also cable upgrade affect the sound quite a bit, also if you can get your hand on...

brainwavz R1 vs m3??? m3 still wins hands down... R1 is a good earphone however.. compared to m3.. m3 has a better sounding in overall sound signature.    R1 also rather v shaped..

yes that should work... tho e11 has abit of warm sound signature.. so it should help u in the bass department... i used e11 myself until i recabled my hm5 then I prefer the e17... but for stock E11 should work great.

ok using the comply tips... i believe i can see the idea of balance with the comply tips alot more than the bi flanged ones.. soundstage become abit smaller however i also get more 3d feeling out of it..    i'll go with amp later on...  now just enjoying it straight from my laptop

just got my R1 as well.... well listening to it now... spacious is my first impression... soundstage is wide.. however it is has only decent depth therefore it's kinda lacking abit of 3-D feeling or something like that. I hope it will get better with burn in... and it is just slightly u shaped...

good thing I have fiio e17 already... btw mine said shipped.... wohooo.... see if the fedex really did a 2 days shipping.. 

:) well hm5 is not exactly bypassing those $300-500 headphones... or actually at the same of hd600.. what I can say is that I love my hm5.. tho mine is modded already with wood cups and external canare cable.    To be honest I have not found a huge sound different from my hm5 when I listen...

Ordered a pair w/o mic since I still want to use my m4 for making calls etc. This should be interesting. Can't wait for it. Btw nice review d2k because it I ordered them straight away. I skipped the m5 waiting for this one :)

jubilee is fa006 with wood cups, dunno if they tinker the internal system or not but it does look sexy...

well I can always make more.. if you're interested.. but gotta warn you it's not exactly as cheap as I thought it would be in the beginning.. lol...    but yeah it does change the sound.. and I enjoy it alot more with the wood cups.. so for me it's worth it.. 

I use merbau wood. it is not exactly the fa002w cups, since it has flat ends on the cups, tho I asked for the 8 stepped to be made for the inside of the cups. I tried with the roughly the similar design of the fa002w ( rounded ones) first then made the flat one to decrease the weight. Sound...

hmm interestingly enough.. I still rate the hm5 as one of the best valued Headphones out there. it has a kinda dark sound in the beginning however after 100+ burn in time, I feel that HM5 does lean toward neutral. Tho I have to admit there are other headphones that can bring out more details...

might want to try wood cups and somde decent amp for fun hm5 :) well yeah i know wood cups are expensive... but curiosity got the better of me.. and i have been enjoying them more than with the original cup..   now i'm abit curious with the philips uptown, since 100% better sound claim...
