    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Wish these were as comfortable as my HD598's. Probably my only grief with them. The clamp on my jaw and circular pads rather than oval aren't winning me over.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

So are these better than the HD650's? Or better question, how are they different? I'm happy with mine, but with 650's being a little over 300 this Friday, I'm just wondering if I missed out.

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Do these need an amp/dac? Running on my new onboard which seems to run up to 600ohms fine and no system noise.   Somewhat underwhelmed coming from hd598's....can't find that $100 difference in SQ

    Philips Fidelio X2?!

Somewhat regret buying from Amazon italy now. Got 2 day shipping and it comes....Monday. Eh, still came out to $297, so barring a return, it should make no difference.

Philips Fidelio X2 : A Review by Baycode

Should be concerned that the US version says X2/27 and the Italian site says X2/00?

Looking for an upgrade from HD598's...

I like my 598's for their comfort and soundstage, but I really wish they were more engaging. I don't listen to classical, neither do I listen to heavy metal or electronic, but I listen to everything else. I feel like these headphones need a little more "oomph", to get me headbanging, or make...

    HD558vsHD598, and a question about dt880's.

    1) Is the HD598 worth the 60 dollars more over the 558? Even if I don't plan on modding my 558's?   2) Someone told me the dt880's are a step over the 598/558, but at the same time has a different type of sound. I'm not an audiophile, so when people start saying audio sounds warmer/fun/dark, I...

    <$250 Headphones for everything. (Gaming/Music/Movies)

Assuming that it can?  I'm in the process of upgrading my rig and a motherboard I'm looking at seems to be able to do so.

    <$250 Headphones for everything. (Gaming/Music/Movies)

I was about to take your advice and just pick up the 558's when I noticed the Beyer dt 990 250hm Pro versions are down to 153 now. About 30 bucks more than the 558's, but considerably lower than the rest of the versions available. Do you think I should stick with the 558 for my usage, or go...

    <$250 Headphones for everything. (Gaming/Music/Movies)

Asus Z-97A Motherboard. So the 558's are essentially the 598's? I remember reading about a foam mod that made them sound the same, is that actually accurate?   And I'm also assuming you believe the Sennheiser's are what I'm looking for here?

    <$250 Headphones for everything. (Gaming/Music/Movies)

Looking for some new headphones after I'm getting sick of these Sennheiser's thin muddy noise compared to my JVC HA-S700 which died recently. I figured I'd break the bank to go with my new computer.   I watch all genre's of movies, and listen to all all genre's of music minus electronic (if...

Cheapest way to get some decent 7.1 surround sound into a pair of DT 770s?

Doesn't hurt to give open headphones a shot, can always return them. What ohm do you recommend? This will be hooked to my pc pretty much all the time.

Cheapest way to get some decent 7.1 surround sound into a pair of DT 770s?

No I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Just want to make sure I'm certain I know what I want before I spend the $$$.   I was looking at the dt990 and sennheiser hd598 before and I was unsure of how good their bass would be (not a bass head sine I listen to pretty much all genres minus "most"...

Cheapest way to get some decent 7.1 surround sound into a pair of DT 770s?

The reason I was going closed is because it's what I'm used to (albeit 30$ JVC Ha-s700) and I hear it gives a more immersive experience when playing RPG's and watching movies due to the isolation and bass. I was under the impression open headphones were more for FPS players when it came to gaming.

Cheapest way to get some decent 7.1 surround sound into a pair of DT 770s?

The 7.1 I'm not picky about, the general surround sound is what matters.   Is that card the lowest I can go for some decent sound?         And on a side note, I see you have the 558's in your sig. How do they compare to the 770s? I know I debated over getting the 598 or 770s for a long...

Cheapest way to get some decent 7.1 surround sound into a pair of DT 770s?

The 80ohm pro version.   These would be perfect if I could just get some surround sound in them. Would make playing games like skyrim, fps, and watching movies 100x more enjoyable.

Headphones similar to Sennheiser hd 598 but closed back/ear?

Both suggestions seem pretty interesting, but I find it hard to find reviews/feedback on them to assure they are what I'm looking for.

Headphones similar to Sennheiser hd 598 but closed back/ear?

Looking for a headphone just as comfortable and on par in quality (and price if not less), but just a closed can. Not a fan of sound leakage, especially if I take them to the library to study. This will also be my first pair of more than 30 buck headhones, so I'm really not all that picky or an...

Help buying a new pair of headphones? ($40 max)

Really rather not spend more than 40. Buying the headphones alone is a splurge at the moment.   Anyone know how the JVC HA-S600 match up to 700's?   I contemplated the monoprice's 2 years ago, but in the end they just seemed to large and blocky for my tastes.

Help buying a new pair of headphones? ($40 max)

I bought a JVC HA-S700 2 years ago and the wire finally died on me. I loved them. Bought them for 30 bucks or so at the time. Now I'm shopping for new headphones similar to those, but I don't want the same headphones again. I liked the fact that they were very flexible (folded in for travel...

Best Headphones for Rock Around $50?

Hey guys, I'm trying to decide between two headphones, the Sennheiser HD 201's and the JVC HAS700. My budget is $30, and the 201's are 22, the HAS700 are 30. Plan to use them for everything (music/games/movies) and I listen to mostly light rock and just a song here and there from different...
