    Schiit Valhalla Vs. Woo WA6SE.

    I'm not exactly sure why you're trying to compare a $350 OTL amp to a $1200 OTC amp...? They're completely different beasts in price *and* function.

    The Reference 6SN7 Thread

    I agree wholeheartedly. In my experience members of this forum completely eschew current production, and as decent NOS sources dry up and prices rise...what then? Offerings from Shuguang and Sophia are a step in the right direction, and they're great tubes, to boot!

    Awesome man. Hope you like them!

    Schiit Valhalla Tube Rolling thread.

    Hey all--I've been lurking this thread, I'm interested in purchasing the Valhalla 2. I've noticed that there doesn't seem to be much discussion regarding rolling the 6N6P output tubes. 6N6P is roughly equivalent to ECC99 and E182CC, yes? Has anybody experimented with those varieties, and what...

    6SN7 -> 6ED7 tube adapters for use with a WA6-SE?

    Hey man--get this. I've been in contact with Glenn recently, and basically by begging the guy he's making me a set. He told me that he bought some excess materials, and that it's OK that I mention to people that he's making them again! I'd give him a PM if I were you :)

    6SN7 -> 6ED7 tube adapters for use with a WA6-SE?

    Hi all, Glenn stopped making these adapters a while ago, and I'd like to create a pair. From conversations I've seen, the adapters in addition to rearranging the pinouts like a normal tube adapter also housed a resistor and a capacitor to protect the 6SN7 from the WA6-SE's considerable...

    I'm aware. IIRC the adapters were able to mitigate that issue, but I haven't found the post yet so I'm going off the top of my head.

    Hi all, I know that glenn used to make 6SN7 > 6EW7 adapters for people here with their WA6-SEs, but I spoke to him recently and apparently he has since stopped making that adapter. Does anybody have any leads for me as to who makes such an adapter, or is using 6SN7 tubes in a WA6-SE simply not...

    Thanks for the notice about longevity. Why did you replace your Sophia with EML? I take it you enjoy the EML more since you recommended it at the bottom. Have you tried the offerings from Shuguang or Psvane? What do you think of them?

    Noted thanks. So then what should I look for with NOS if I were to go that route? It just seems risky to me given that supply can and will dry up. Does NOS generally outperform current production, or is it just preferred because they can be cheap? Perhaps a mix of NOS and current production is...

    Thanks for your advice. Aren't EMLs current production? How do you feel about 5U4G vs. 274B? Which 6SN7 did you like better than Shuggies? Thank you!   I have read that stuff like the Sophia dies early, yeah. But I guess the way I see it I prefer to be able to continuously buy stuff...

    Hey guys, I had a question for you all about current production tubes. I'm a bit anal and like the idea of using current production (even though the price is higher) for the comfort of knowing I can always get more later. Anyway with that out of the way, I'm looking to get a WA5-LE, so what...

    Been out of the game for a while...can anyone recommend some closed back cans?

    Hi Purple, He'll go going straight into an iPod in public. He doesn't own any amplifiers.

    Been out of the game for a while...can anyone recommend some closed back cans?

    I'm more of a fan of open-back or semi-open cans, but my friend is interested in a set of closed back on a budget of sub-$400. He usually listens to classic rock and lighter indie stuff. Needless to say since it isn't my forte, I'm coming here to ask for suggestions and recommendations. Thanks...

    Quote: Thanks for the headsup. Does the 6F8G have the same pin-out as the 6SN7 (i.e. do I need an adapter, and further, can the same adapter be used)? My issue with the lauded TS is that demand is huge, everybody's lapping them up, and I've seen pairs go for over $400. I don't have that...

    Hi guys, I've returned to posting! I'm still working on saving up for a 6SE, and had some questions regarding tubes. Over the course of this thread, people have loved the Sophia, then thought they were dying too soon, so they went to EML, then some people thought those died early too, then EML...

    What's a fair price for used HD650?

    I would have to say it depends on their age and in what condition they are. They can be had for less than $400 new on Amazon I believe.

    Schiit DACs (Bifrost and Gungnir down, one to go)? The information and anticipation thread.

    Quote: Frankly, he's just being realistic. Nobody's expecting a $350 DAC to go against much more expensive ones in an already saturated market at every price point. Why else do you think Schiit is making multiple tiers? Because the Bifrost simply doesn't compete at higher price points...are...
