I've had a couple of pairs of sennheiser hd202's that I have enjoyed. Those run in that neighborhood. Hal- hfw01

Over the ear cans for kids?
I have a pair of the HD 202 that my 6 year old daughter uses. She doesn't have any trouble with the fit, and for $20 headphones they sound pretty good.- hfw01

Shure SRH440 bass
Although a number of people have commented that they felt the 840 earpads increased the bass, that is not what I see as the biggest reasons to upgrade the pads. For me, upgrading the pads greatly increased the comfort of the headphones, making them much easier to wear for longer periods. The...- hfw01

Shure SRH440 vs Grado SR60
The headband fits perfectly. And if the rubberbands weren't there, it would be perfect.- hfw01

Shure SRH440 vs Grado SR60
I got the HD-580 band from B & H Photo bhphotovideo.com. I have not permanently attached it yet, but it has been a huge improvement. (I have it tied on with two rubberbands that I cut.) I am trying to figure out what to attach them with that attractive, and not destructive. Double sided tape...- hfw01

Shure SRH440 vs Grado SR60
I have not heard the Grado's but love my 440's. I would also recommend the 840 pads. I also have added a Sennheiser HD-580 replacement headband to the underside of the headband, which I found little hard. I listen to just about every type of music, and the 440's are not bass heavy, but feel...- hfw01

Second Pair of Cans
I would certainly agree with getting something different. Just for the variety. I have a pair of 440's at work that I listen to at home, and an old pair of Sennheiser hd202's at home. The 202's don't compare to the 440's, but are good enough that I don't travel the 440's to and from work. I...- hfw01

Shure SRH440 with SRH840 Replacement Ear Cushions
I also have the 840 pads on my 440's. The comfort difference is very noticeable. The 840 pads are much softer and more comfortable. The 840 pads are also thicker, although I think my ears still may touch. It's not noticeable though.- hfw01

Shure SRH440 Headband
I've made a minor improvement. I've got a couple of pieces of a 12 oz can Koozie tied to the headband. I really want to find a little piece of memory foam, and make a nice pad. Hopefully I can find a little piece somewhere.- hfw01

SRH840 pads on SRH440
I have had the 440's for about a month, and I recommend the 840 pads. I didn't have them long enough with the regular pads on them to do a real sound comparison, but the 840 pads are SO worth it for the comfort. Much nicer feel, and softer.- hfw01

Sub $100 cans, v6 still a solid choice?
I have a pair of the 440's. I got them a little over a month ago. (I did replace the earcups with 840 earcups. These are softer and more comfortable.) I have not heard the others, so I can not comment about those. The 440's sound great across all genres. Rock, Jazz classical, blues. They...- hfw01

hhhhheeeeeelp!!!!!!!! What to buy? Shure srh 440 or Beyerdynamic dt 440
I just got a pair of the Shure's, and have really enjoyed how they sound. I have not heard the Dt's. The only thing I have to say about the Shure's is that switching from the stock pads to SRH840 pads made a huge jump in comfort for me. Worth the $20.00. I also find that the headband is not...- hfw01

Shure SRH440 Headband
I just got a pair of Shure SRH440's a couple of weeks ago, and have been enjoying the way they sound, but find the headband a little uncomfortable across the top of my head. I was wondering if anyone knew of an easy way to mod the headband or add some padding to make it a little softer. ...- hfw01
