On a mission to like jazz

Hi guys, not sure how jazzy this is, but it's certainly smooth. I think anyone could like this. Free downloads on the soundcloud, too.    http://www.thefader.com/2014/01/31/download-a-smooth-jazz-cover-of-grimes-genesis-because-you-can/

On a mission to like jazz

This is excellent, loving it! Really interesting to hear some scratching going on- I personally never go down that route when I'm mixing but it's something I want to master for sure.  There's so much musical energy in Bristol, unfortunately I've only had the pleasure of going to a house...

Love that Hendrix piece. I have to admit I knew nothing about those projects, seems to be quite a few people saying he was one of the pioneers of fusin Jazz..   Anyone have any suggestions for unusual instruments used in Jazz in it's many forms? I've just come across this album, really fresh.

On a mission to like jazz

Haha, for now it's just music and chilling. Spinning Frank Zappa's Hot Rats atm. Pretty far out and groovy. I suppose it's always good when a record makes you want to get your instrument of choice out and play along. Conversely, it's dawning on me that I'd never be able to make my alto sax...

On a mission to like jazz

Many thanks for all the contributions in this thread..working my way through them (easiest work I've ever done ;) )    Came across this tonight and had to share:    Sipping some Benromach (a must try, Scotch lovers) and thoroughly enjoying this. It may have taken 21 years for me to 'get'...
