    REVIEW: Ostry KC06

Ordered from Penon Audio. I could never get the tracking number to work. It took 7 days to arrive here in Nebraska. I'll take it!   The largest stock tips would not seal well I had no isolation. Ended up using some of the wide bore JVC tips from the FX40, FX101 or FX1X1... not sure which...

    The WS99/WS77 PG 57..

Quote: I think they are far from a one-trick pony.   I bought these cans to use at work as all-arounders and they are filling that roll nicely. I appreciate how much the rich low end fills out a lot of the music I listen to without stepping on the mids. At work I probably only listen to...

    Ortho Modding Variant

Wow. Great looking design and an innovative system for modding. It looks perfect for pulling every bit of potential out of those drivers. I am glad those T20v2 drivers have found a home. The headphones sat on a shelf at in the recording studio at my old employer for countless (20+?) years before...

    The WS99/WS77 PG 57..

I got the WS99s on Monday. I haven't worn them for more than 2 hours at time and at that point I begin to feel some pressure on my ears. Mind you, my ears are on the larger side so i do end up shoehorning them in the the cup a bit. I seem to notice it a bit less every day, so I will need to...

    The WS99/WS77 PG 57..

Mine won't be here until Monday. Is it possible to extend the headband completely and slightly bend the metal to lessen the clamping pressure? I know my FA-011s have shallow pads and I they hurt my ears after 30 min. I know they are a different design but after I bent the metal loops they were...

    The WS99/WS77 PG 57..

Has anyone tried the WS99 with the hifiman pads? I have some arriving tomorrow and I have a pair of the velours. I imagine if they would even fit they might jack with the sound. I will try and report back.

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

I can't listen to my FA-011 anymore without an impedance adapter. I have bought 3 off ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271187691903 It takes the edge off the highs. My ears are sensitive to excessive (IMO) highs. BTW I have the original dark red ones with the coiled cable.

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

I also bought the velours. They increase the comfort level without altering the sound drastically. I have only had one listening session with the new pads so YMMV. Considering pads for my other headphones can run $60. These velours are practically free.

The NEW JVC HA-S400. Affordable Carbon Nanotube cans for the masses.

Sorry for any issues anyone has had. First thing this morning when I went in  to the phone sales manager with the SKUs for the white and black S400s and told him the source of all these (attempted ) purchases. The problem is that most of our sales come from the 5 state region they referenced and...

Quote: We are still in the phase of ironing out all the kinks in nationwide US shipping since we have to deal with sharing warehouses and inventory between the website and with our 3 stores. Not to mention the 10s of thousands of direct ship products. I will bring it up but it will probably...

The NEW JVC HA-S400. Affordable Carbon Nanotube cans for the masses.

We had them in stock this last weekend but I wanted to make sure I grabbed a pair before I shared.    I know we had 20 pair of Black in Omaha and 7 sold over the weekend. I wasn't in a huge hurry until I saw how many sold this weekend.   Most of NFMs business is regional within 200-300...

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

I posted earlier about the FA-011s being picky on sources and amps and I wanted to follow up. I am focusing on the treble because that seems to be what I am sensitive to with these headphones.   Pandora on Kindle Fire > CMOY BB > FA-011   Highs are smooth (Rolled off?) with well balanced...

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

My ears, while large from top to bottom, don't stick out that much so removing the foam give them just enough room. They might be a little brighter in the treble but not much more than having the hole cut in the foam. I got mine last April/May and they didn't have a hole cut in the foam. I...

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

You can reshape the top metal bands to reduce the clamping pressure. I removed the inner foam covering the driver and it give my ears a lot more room to breathe.   Quote:

    Apple IEM worth $59?

My bad. I wasn't saying to buy from that source. I apologize for not checking the feedback. I bought mine refurbished for $30 but I can't recall the seller. I was just pointing out that you can find them for much cheaper than $60. The links I posted were the first two to come up and I expected...

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

That would work too. My only fear is that as I upgrade my source and amp that I might run in to darker, warmer link in the chain and I might appreciate the extra sparkle. I guess you can always remove/replace it. Do you know what that blue thing (capacitor?) is on the back of the driver and why...

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

My Fa-011s had a lot of clamping force when I got them. I tried bending the metal bands as show in the following illustration. I also pulled out the foam in front of the drivers to give my ears more room. They are now some of the most comfortable headphones I have worn. Regarding the treble I...

REVIEW: Fischer Audio FA-011 - OFF THE DEEP END!!

I took the foam out to give my ears more room and they are very comfortable. They were a little brighter but sound great as long as you are listening to well recorded material. When I listen to more mainstream / lower quality recordings (Bright or Sibilant) I use a 75 Ohm adapter and it tames...
