24 vs 32-bit sound
I looked up some of the popular high-end DAC chips on the market to see the noise performance based on their specifications. The Effective Number of Bits (ENOB) of a DAC, or the noise-free bits that a DAC can resolve, can be simply calculated from the dynamic range specification on chip...- vikman21

Sony MDR-V6 or Audio Technica ATH-M50?
I agree with the previous comments that the MDR-v6 sound rather harsh. I enjoyed listening to music with the M50 much more.- vikman21

Any anime series that you've been enjoying?
Like many other people in this thread, I've recently been enjoying Fate/Zero, Ben-to, Guilty Crown, and Mawaru Penguindrum. I'm very impressed with how ufotable is handling Fate/Zero. The pacing may be somewhat on the slow side, but the animation is gorgeous and the soundtrack is great. ...- vikman21

Headphones for gaming and music under $150?
The bass on the AD700s is pretty thin though. For around $150, you could try the ATH-M50 if you haven't heard that as a suggestion before. I'm not sure how good it is for gaming, but it's a good choice for listening to music. Sennheiser HD558s might work as well.- vikman21

Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)
I saw a deal for the Meelec CW31P's for $20 a few weeks ago and I picked it up after looking at the review in this thread. After switching the stock ear tips out for larger ones, I feel that the CW31s are a very good option for a natural sounding IEM for the price I paid. The mids and highs...- vikman21

Rank the Headphones that You Own.
I recently got AKG K702s and I'm very happy with my purchase. 1) AKG K702 2) ATH-A700 3) ATH-ES7 - I think these sound better than the A700s, but I can't wear them too long without discomfort 4) Shure E2c 5) Koss KSC75 6) Sony MDR-v6- vikman21

Audio-Technica Announces Revised ART Monitor Series, New Open Headphones
Hopefully these sound good. I've enjoyed my A700s so I'll keep an eye out on these headphones. I'm not really sold on the wings though, so moving to a full headband looks interesting.- vikman21

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
Hi everyone, I will probably be buying the AKG K702 within a few days, but I'm not sure what amp to get with the headphones. I already have the Fiio E7, which I acquired from a friend for a low price. Would the E7/E9 combo suit the AKG K702 well? I've read that the 702s can always use a...- vikman21

A Good Pair of Cans For Around $200 (USD)?
I feel that the ATH-M50 and ATH-A700 have similar sound signatures. However, the M50 has stronger bass than the ATH-A700, and both of them have slightly recessed midranges. I also feel the A700 has a better soundstage. The design of the two headphones is obviously quite different - A700s seem...- vikman21

The Sony's are very durable. To make them more comfortable, buy Beyerdynamic DT250 replacement velour ear pads (costs about $20) and use those instead of the stock Sony ones.- vikman21

Hard time finding my perfect Headphone
Audio Technica ATH-M50 might be a good option. They have nice bass and are well-regarded. M50s aren't the most portable headphones, but you can wear them outside if you have to ATH-M50s go for about $150 USD these days (sad, since they went for about $100 USD less than a year ago), so...- vikman21
