If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
What's the other part, cost? They definitely feel different, although that could just be in my head. The clear ones feel more firm and aren't as comfortable in the ear. While I agree the clear tips are more aesthetically pleasing, for me, functionality > form and I've been using my old...- r0wr

Is anybody else having issues with the clear, large 3-flange ear tips? I find them to get excessively dirty and disgusting only after a month of usage whereas the old gray 3-flange that come with the 4Ps to be much nicer. Dave, any reason why the tips were switched?- r0wr

Recently traded in my ER4P's for ER4XR's. Initially they were too bassy as I was used to the 4P but over time, I think my ears have adjusted and it now sounds better. Sub-bass definitely seems accentuated which is appreciated for certain types of music. All in all, I think it was a fair purchase...- r0wr

The Village Headphone Meet 2012 (Southern California) - Sunday, April 22, 2012
Are we allowed to come even if we don't have any equipment to contribute but just to catch and check out some new gear? I'd feel like a scrub bringing DT 880/600s or HD600's- r0wr

$4-500 for Progressive House, etc.
For trance and with such a small budget, go with the TF10's and an amp... You won't regret it. BA wins when it comes to fast paced music.- r0wr

New Guy, A few questions
I have the e7/e9 combo and have the DT880/600. I can't speak for the DT990's but in my opinion, the DT880's are too bright and have to much sibilance at high volumes. If the DT900's are brighter, I couldn't imagine them to be too great, especially over a lot of time. Just my two cents.- r0wr

Quote: Well all this talk about tube amps and I mistakenly bought the e7/e9 combo. I am going to borrow my friend's HD600's so I'll be able to compare them with my amp to see which is best for my fit but from what I've read, I think I will like the signature of the DT880's more than the...- r0wr
