Hey guys,   Getting the itch again.  I enjoy my setup, but you know how it goes.   I currently have 2 Behringer Truth B3031A's running through a KRK 10S via XLR.   Its all hooked up to an old Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 with upgraded tubes and dac via optical output (usb doesn't...

    Interested in Isolation Pads. (Updated)

Finally got them in.  And from my initial impressions, I can definitely say they complete change the depth of the music and create more instrumental separation.  It does kill a lot of low end (not all though considering they're 8"+ drivers) but it makes for more clarity.  It definitely cut down...

Something to absorb my subwoofer vibrations

    Interested in Isolation Pads. (Updated)

Alright, so couldn't resist and ended up ordering the Auralex SpeakerDude HD pads and their SubDude isolation platform.  I'm thinking of making my own wall mounted stuffed acoustic panels.   Will post shots after they're installed and give my impressions for those interested.

    Interested in Isolation Pads. (Updated)

Thanks for the response!  I like the idea of the mopads, but they looked like they would make my monitors a bit unstable if anyone were to 'bump' them.  That's why I posted the speakerdudes as well. I have my monitors angled to my ears at an equidistant arrangement, so they're pretty well...

    $500-$600 U.S.A. Tube Amp for HD650's?

Wow, haven't checked this thread in a long time.  What is it with some of you guys and the "American" comment.  I'm simply an advocate of supporting the U.S. economy, not China's, which the market is flooded with sadly.  I don't (as does no one else) care what ethnicity you are, lol.   Thank...

    Interested in Isolation Pads. (Updated)

What's up guys.   Just wanted to stop by and ask for everyone's opinion on studio monitor isolation pads.  I've got an elevated studio desk with 2 Behringer 3031A monitors and the bass (vibration) is just ridiculous from a simple 2.0 setup.   I've been looking into getting either:  ...

Help iMac optical out doesn't seem to work (with matrix cube)...

I have the exact same configuration as Roseval on my iMac, works perfectly.  Stupid suggestion maybe, but did you insert the optical jack connector all the way and insert the plug fully into the headphone port?  It is a worthwhile upgrade, I lost a lot of digital feedback i was getting by moving...

Best headphone stand/holder for Denon AH-D2000's?

I love my Woo stand, but then again, I don't care about price.  The finish/quality of it is worth the price.  I get more compliments on it than i probably would with a banana holder, lol.

USB DAC that outputs to PC Speakers and Headphones?

Take a look at the maverick audio Dac magic D1. It's pretty good value as a headphone amp/Dac/external tube preamp. Only cost 200 plus shipping. I got the upgraded tube which I think is worth it if you have decent desktop speakers, nothing over the top.

    $500-$600 U.S.A. Tube Amp for HD650's?

Hello fellow Head-fi'ers.  I am at it again.  I bought a pair of HD650's (on a thread here somewhere) a month ago that are currently paired with a Maverick Audio D1 DAC/AMP with an upgraded preamp tube (looking into upgrading the OP-AMP) and I'm looking to go with tubes this time around.  I'm...

Quote: Woah, guys, lets not argue (not referring to you lizardking  ), just a simple repetitive 650 thread.  I am a slight noob at this stuff, but I know a lot about sound dynamics and other properties, just not as much about the particular models and brands and what equipment properly...

Quote: Well, I'm not new to high quality music as a whole, just not as familiar as some of you with the different aspects and signatures of the models and brands. I may not be a great candidate for your question, perhaps due to my instrumental background.  So I've always noticed (or...

Thanks mate.   Yeah, they arrived sometime this morning while i was at work. Found them on my front porch just sitting there in plain view to be nicked, made me sick, haha.   Just started breaking them in.  These things are really sweet, just gave me chills when i heard the piano portion...
