    Recommendation: Hard disc player

I recommend the iPod. I've had mine for some time now and use it daily. It's been on several plane trips using my Ety ER4P and it's a real life saver on a noisy plane. Plenty of power. I haven't seen anything else that interests me in portable audio. I can't say I've ever listened more than...

    Digital Camcorder recommendation requested

Thanks for the responses everyone! I was doing a google mainly for newsgroups. I ususally get the information I'm looking for in about 5 seconds, but I was getting hits on out-dated and unhelpful advice. I guess this is one case where doing a more advanced search is what is required. Thanks...

    Digital Camcorder recommendation requested

Anyone have a digital camcorder recommendations for my girl friend? She wants to use it mostly for interviews and reunions as she is the family historian. She's looking for an entry level one between $400 and $800. Or if any of you have links to a digital camcorder forum I'd appreciate that...

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones DVD.... meh

The old ones were a little silly, but at least I cared about what happened (I too was 7 when Star Wars first came out though). Everyone I knew cared too, again 7year olds. heh The latest batch of movies I don't even care about the story or the characters. All I can do is cringe at the dialog...

    Bourbon or Scotch

If you'd like to try a really good burbon, look for something called Rip Van Winkle. Don't bother with the stuff made out of rye though.

Where does everyone store their headphones?

Glass head at work. Coat/hat rack at home. The coat rack actually works great if you have a couple pairs of phones. I also got one of those aluminum cases Dusty referred to for transporting the phones. They're $25 at Lowes and very nice looking. I went to the fabric store and bought some...

    Headphones and airplanes

A consensus appears to be forming. Etys are very good for plane travel. On the smaller commuter planes I can still hear quite a bit of engine noise, but it takes the harshness out of it. When you pull the Etys out the noise is deafening in comparison. Also, like John_jcb said these work...

A good alternative to grado flatpads

Thanks for the tip sacd lover. I don't really care for the ratshack pads so I'll give these a shot.

grado 225's after senn hd600, will I be disappointed?

Unfortunately, you're the only one who will be able to answer that. If you can try them out at a shop before ordering that might help with your decision. Hopefully they'll have the HD600 to try along side with it. Of course you won't really know until you hook it up to your MG Head. In an...

    Grado flat pad differences?

I hope a cop stops by your house for coffee and eats all of those.

May ye have years of piratin' before ye meet the end of a salty dog's cutlass, or end up in Davy Jones' locker. Gar!

wow...those Grado flat pads ARE all that!

I prefer the flat pads too. They're also more comfortable than the bowls to me. I am very disappointed that Grado discontinued them and don't make replacement flats any more. I even emailed them about it. If anyone knows of a source for these pads, for the love of God tell us here!

    Headphones for classical?

Unfortunately all of the closed phones I've heard probably won't completely block out your siblings antics, but rather just muffle their noise a bit. For thorough noise blocking you need to reach for the Etymotic canal phones which are over your budget. They are excellent for classical btw...

    UT2003 Demo Out

This is the most I've laughed out loud playing a game in a long time. There is so much mayhem it's ludicrous...and fun.

Stop by Radio Shack. They sell the same type of 'comfy' pads that will fit for cheap.

Here's $1000, pick me up some headphones

Quote: Also, does anyone in the us sell the Sugden? Audio Outlet in NY is where I bought my Headmaster. They were very helpful and shipped it the day I paid for it. I don't know if they have any in stock at the moment though.

    Thinking about getting a iPod...

Welcome back Czilla9000. You can use EphPod without MacDrive. I do and it works great. I originally had a Mac formatted iPod, but I converted it to Windows and just deleted the iPod_Control folder before connecting to EphPod and it built the directory structure. Here's the thread on how to...

    best headphones for under $40??

I agree about the KSC-35, but not everyone likes the clip-on phones or want's to bid or buy from ebay. If you have a Borders store nearby you can grab the new Koss KTX Pro 1 for $20. These have the same drivers as the KSC-35, include an inline volume control, and sound very good. There is a...

    Koss KTX Pro 1s

I went ahead and picked a pair of these up out of curiosity. I originally ordered a pair of PortaPros at half price from Koss, but UPS left them by my gate and someone stole them, which in turn prompted me to try the KTX pro 1. They are quite small, cheaply built and flimsy which is ok since...

    own a PDA?

I have an iPAQ and while it is a very cool gadget, I almost never use it. I have [2] computers at work and one at home, which provide as much organization and information that I want in my life. People away from a computer for large periods of time that need access to a lot of information...

I just converted my Mac iPod to a Win iPod

Sweet! This worked like a charm. Thanks for sharing the information sunshine. For any ephPod users doing this, be sure to delete the iPod_Control folder on your new WinPod before running ephPod. Let it build the the directory structure for you and you'll be in business.

    Comfy Grados?!

My SR80s are comfortable for about 3-4 hours, then they get extremely painful if don't take a break from them for at least an hour. It seems that the plastic enclosure is actually pressing against part of my ear using the bowl pads. My HP-2s with flat pads are sufficiently comfortable for...

Audio stores in Washington State & Oregon?

Guitar Center sells the 7506. I haven't seen anyone selling Beyers in a shop around here. Those in the Portland area looking for other phones can find Grados and Sennheisers at Fred's Sound of Music.
