I've been considering the H8 for a while and have a question I haven't been able to figure out. What is the purpose of using full-range drivers? I think this is the first IEM I've seen use them alongside the typical multi-driver crossover setup.

About to start modding a pair. The stock T50RP earpds aren't thick enough and my ears touch the drivers, which is very uncomfortable after some time. Are the 840 pads thicker? It's hard to tell from pictures.
