Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
I really like it although the Onkyo is at my parents house so I cannot compare them. The Sony and Sansui sound great to me, I cannot really say which one sounds better. Some have said that the Sony has a tube-like sound, but I have never heard a tube based receiver so I cannot say.- red71rum

Thanks, I to remember getting my families Onkyo 2500 MK II and Onkyo TT. My parents no longer have the turntable, but the Onkyo is still running strong (I cleaned out like six inches of dust and cleaned the controls) last time I visited last year. Here it is -- red71rum

It was at least five years ago, but the old pads were compressed if I remember, so I think this was an upgrade for me. The AKG guy suggested them as he had supposedly used them with this model himself at one time.- red71rum

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
I think they are great, but you are right, I don't know anyone that has them. They are pretty huge with the dual drivers, I reached out to AKG and worked with a rep at one time to replace the pads with a newer velour (maybe the wrong term) pads. I have them connected to my Yamaha CR620 right now...- red71rum

Rockbox Xduoo X3
LOL. I might just leave their protector on then. This was my last DAP (2015 I believe) I ever bought, the Xduoo 3 had\has so many quirks ( don;t even get me started with the X2 I have and no longer use), even with rockbox. Mine kept erroring out and crashing but the tech in me would not give up...- red71rum

Rockbox Xduoo X3
Dumb question here, I have never taken off the screen protector film. If I took just that off and did not remove the screen, is the display brighter? My screen cover still has the original air bubbles and it is super annoying and dark of course when used in sunlight even on 16 (rockbox brightness).- red71rum

Here is my $20 FB Sansui 771 I got last year. I reflowed the solder on the bulb section because it was intermittently going out. I also changed out the bulbs with warms LEDs, nothing gaudy. I did see how the incandescent bulbs were hot and had made marks on the inside plastic. I have this paired...- red71rum

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread
Well I have been using my TF 10's more now that I broke out my old Ipod 3rdGen Touch 64 GB (Wolfson Dac, sounds way better than my iphone 13 pro using the apple dac\headphone connector). Anyway, I have the Dark Lord cable that I got back in the day (the cheaper one with the angled plug), but the...- red71rum

It does, it is really great. I also got a TOTL Sony 7065 recently but that thing needs a new driver board. The speakers above are super easy to drive and sound great with this receiver, kind of like a poor man's Altec lol.- red71rum

Here is my $20 Sansui 771 from FB marketplace. It is a nice little receiver, although one bulb was going sometimes, not always staying lit. I talked to some guys on AK and they mentioned the lamp socket needing re-soldering. I had not soldered anything since working at Namco Cyberstation in the...- red71rum

Topping D30 stops working....
I can try my surface book 2 later. Interestingly, it could be one of the more modern receivers, a Yamaha RX1130. I noticed when I went to use it after get the dac working, that it was not producing sound and the dac was acting up again. I did a reset of the receiver and the dac was working...- red71rum

Topping D30 stops working....
Ok, I have had this DAC for several years, I utilize it to connect my iMac to my vintage receivers and utilize Foobar2000 for music. Anyway, lately every couple of weeks the DAC stops working. My iMac recognizes it (but sometimes it does not, have to switch usb ports, power down the DAC etc.) It...- red71rum

Here is my Yamaha RX-1130 circa 1988-89, it was TOTL at that time. I got it with some Magnapan SMGa. It has a cartoonishly large controller also. The receiver sounds great to me, and seems to use lighting scheme from early Pioneer Elite receivers.- red71rum

Not a monster receiver but in great shape. I got this for free. The older gentleman had not used it in years and when I turned it on, the relay clicked overly loud each time, and the only sound was a loud hum over the speakers. I took it to an older tech that I know and he replaced several...- red71rum
