I have Yamaha KX-393 deck and a pc soundcard M-audio audiophile 2496. I want to know wich one is better to listen to music. I don't have the same music source to play on both to compare right now. What do you think?

I have M-audio Audiophile 2496 sound card, Yamaha MG10/2 Mixer and AKG k512 headphones. Im wondering is it better to listen through my mixer (so I can play with the volume and etc) or listen directly from the soundcard. Will the quality be better with the mixer?
