1964 Ears
now, this is a wild assumption. I suspect 1964ears hired a new trainee to do the shells, and it's causing the build quality decline. just a guess... Anyway, back to listening the 1964Q. More music, less conflict.- MINGF5

Never find the Quads being fatiguing. like Ericp and others mentioned before, the bass is not boomy. I wish I can have them in my ears all day, but the boss won't allow it.- MINGF5

OK, i'm not saying this to draw comparison, but UM now offers the recessed sockets as the standard, you have to ask for the flush sockets if you want those instead. Quote:- MINGF5

that's why i don't call JH products as affordable custom IEM's in comparison to 1964 EARS. Frankly, I don't know how much works must be put in to make the socket recessed, so I won't be the one to justify 1964's pricing. However, 1964 EARS used to offer this option for free. So here you go, from...- MINGF5

$50 is outrageous. $10-20 is acceptable. and also what I understand from their new website is, you must choose color combination from their color chart, otherwise, it's $50 to get your custom color. Quote:- MINGF5

Hi-5 to Randius and whoever got the free recessed sockets. Though I seriously think this option should remain free. Just so everybody knows, UM just standardized the recessed sockets as the primary option to their iem. Free too, I presume. Just so I thought other company try to do a little bit...- MINGF5

Earsonics SM3 Appreciation Thread - Third Time is a Charm?
i'm comparing it to the stock bi-flanges. sorry i don't have the sensorcom tips and i really don't like the comply tips. Technically, to my ears i found the reshell is identical to the stock SM3 with the bi-flanges. I love the mid and the bass on the SM3, and they are still there. The added...- MINGF5

Earsonics SM3 Appreciation Thread - Third Time is a Charm?
Since my SM3 shells split, I turned them into these. I kept the original green sound filters in them. The first thing jumps out is the added space to the already big space.- MINGF5

Sorry to hear that. In my case, they used USPS registered mail with tracking number, which I had to sign for it personally, just like regular UPS/Fedex delivery. Did you sign for it? Which brings up a dilemma to international buyers. should they report the exact value to the custom, or...- MINGF5

@choky900, Thanks for sharing this info. The cost of custom artwork and multi-color combination is relatively cheap compared to other companies. I wish they do the fiber glass look like JH Audio. I should have asked them when I ordered mine.- MINGF5

1964 Ears
correct me if I'm wrong, I've seen UM makes the second sound bore a crest shape, but I've never seen any custom IEM from any company make a big dent in the tip like this. I think it's fair that Randius raises the flag and contact 1964Ears to figure out if this is a build quality issue or not...- MINGF5

I'd send it back too. I have small earholes as well. if you go back a few posts, you can see that on my IEM, the acrylic shell still encase all 4 sides of the sound tube. The thing to worry about on yours is the sound tube comes loose somehow. Hopefully they can make yours a priority and fix it...- MINGF5
