    Amp/ DAC info needed

    Looking for an amp for my Shure SRH840s. Thinking about the iBasso D2+ Boa. Looks good for my iPod and laptop.   But I have a question:   Do amps only affect the input volume to the headphones, or does it also affect the sound quality and soundstage?    Thanks!
