Upgrade/replacement from ATH-M50
Alright, the DT770 looks pretty nice! Would there be any noticeable difference between the 250 and 80 ohm versions to a non-audiophile? Going through my computer with standard onboard sound.- Megatetrahedron

Upgrade/replacement from ATH-M50
Thanks for the suggestions so far, but I definitely do not want any leather / pleather covered earpads or anything like that.- Megatetrahedron

Upgrade/replacement from ATH-M50
I don't need noise cancelling at all, I'd rather get something without that as it just needlessly drives the price up. From pictures I've seen, the earpads seem to be covered in the same or similar material as the M50, which makes it a big nono. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I...- Megatetrahedron

Upgrade/replacement from ATH-M50
Hey guys I've been using an Audio Technica ATH-M50 for a number of years now. It's been OK. I like its sound a lot, but there's a few things that I'm not a fan of: - Can get very uncomfortable at 3+ hours of use (I do have a large head) - The pleather earpads are pretty horrible (I...- Megatetrahedron

I wanna BASS! (Under 100 bucks)
As some have already said, the M50s would be a very good choice for you. I just bought a pair myself, and my review should be floating around here somewhere.- Megatetrahedron

Excellent build quality, but only a 6/10 on my subjective comfort-o-meter. It's a pity about the pleather...- Megatetrahedron

Quote: From what I gather they're not the most comfortable. Apparently they're quite a tight fit (I have a big head) closed, and covered in pleather. Do you own a pair?- Megatetrahedron

Hi forum. I've been using a pair of HD215s in sweet ignorant bliss for a few years now. Thank god that the cable got damaged, because this forced me to switch to the only other pair of cans in the house, the Philips HP840. The difference blew me out of the water. The HP840 is...- Megatetrahedron
