What makes Bose products so attractive to non-audiophiles?
My friend said that Bose headphones are amazing. I asked him to name some headphone manufacturers; he picked out Bose, Skullcandy, and Dre Beats.- Inceptor

Boards of Canada - In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country Great to see some Elbow in this thread. Here's one of my favourites from them. -
What is the best audio source for my computer?

What is the best audio source for my computer?
Yeah, I guess visually you can make the GUI on Foobar2k quite stunning I was suggesting that some features available on mediamonkey are not offered on foobar (or at least I think.) I am pretty sure you cannot sync on foobar. MediaMonkey, however, does offer syncing for many media...- Inceptor

Differences in volume in day-to-day hearing
Hopefully there isn't another thread on this specifically, I did a search but there were too many results to wade through. I listen to my Denon D2000s every day, and it seems that the volume of my music changes every day. I am running them straight out of my sound card, and I do not tinker...- Inceptor

What song drops the deepest bass?
Thom Yorke - Black Swan Kills my ears every time I listen to it. I also like Boards of Canada - Peacock Tail for some deep, melodic bass -
What is the best audio source for my computer?
I believe that MediaMonkey also supports a lot of music players. I used to use it to sync everything with my Sansa Fuze. It crashes on startup with my iPhone connected though, so I assume that Apple products are incompatible with MediaMonkey (I am not 100% sure about this one).- Inceptor

What is the best audio source for my computer?
Foobar2000 is a favourite around here. If you're looking for something more visually appealing then try MediaMonkey. I like to use it for auto-organizing my files but I use foobar for playback.- Inceptor

The Post and Math Rock appreciation thread.
Mogwai - The Hawk is Howling Just seems... more organic than other post-rock albums. Organic might not be the right term, but there is something in this album that hits me. -
Can anyone recommend some great ambient music for studying?
Biosphere has some pretty good ambient albums. I haven't really given a good listen to his music yet, but it is definitely worth a look. Try out the album Substrata first. It is very ambient: the music is built on textures rather than melodies and harmonies. As for myself, I listen to... -
Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!
Hello, In terms of an entry level (around 150$) DAC/amp as an upgrade from onboard sound, would a audio-gd sparrow do the trick or should I be looking for other alternatives?- Inceptor

Need help with entry-level DAC/Amp or sound card for Denon D2000s
Hello, head-fi. First post here, but I've been browsing the forums a bit for about a month now. I currently have a pair of Denon D2000s running straight out of my desktop's motherboard. I haven't listened to any setup other than this one and due to the lack of audiophile friends / meets /...- Inceptor
