I am planning to buy one AKG K1000.  I was told that there are 2 versions. One is bass heavy another is not so.   How can I know that?  Which one is better is SQ and built.   Is the serial number of the AKG K1000 has any thing to do with it?

Because of the price difference of almost 300-400 dollars to upgrade the oppo 83se to the nuforce , do we agree that's it's a way to go.   Will the SQ difference be that much to justify the cost?   I'm saving money to buy one, however i need more gadgets to get a relatively hiend system too...
