If I connect, say, a Sansa Fuze to a Beyer DT990 (250ohm), will I damage anything? If nothing will get damaged, anyone has any idea how it may sound (compared to the stock earphones that came with it)? Lower volume? And possibly less impact/punch?

Since you've removed the foam, can you tell me what is left that protects the driver from being poked and damaged? If you have a picture, that would be great! I have the foams on my 990 on still, but wonder what happens during handling when I accidentally hit the foam with my fingers. Thanks.
