My sister ran a marathon with my E500PTH
but be careful. i ruined a pair of e5cs while exercising with foam tips (the sweat went through). I recommend tips like the triflange that are waterproof. And try not to get hit by a car. Running with IEMs is a little dangerous.- Seroka2

decent IEM's for the gym?
chrisfromalbany, Are you able to wear the UE-10s at the gym? I already killed a pair of e5s wearing foamies (shure was nice enough to replace them) and haven't had any trouble with the tri-flange tips. However, I'd like to get a custom iem, but if the seal's not good enough to keep the sweat...- Seroka2

Need help with Sonicstage
i got the same message with my hd3 when i switched to sonicstage 3.4. I don't know about the 405, but on mine, if I press the Menu button and scroll down to "format" I have the choice to "initialize hard disc" that clears everything and you start from the beginning. or alternately, your PC...- Seroka2

SM3v6 pics (56k warning)
i just got my v6. the bass boost is a little stronger than my v3 - maybe a little too much, but my e5s are bassy anyways. the sound is a little muddy compared to my older amp, but this will probably correct itsself with burn-in. any idea how many hours of burn-in it needs?- Seroka2

Good MD Recorder + Mic for Recording Live Vocals
that one's pretty good, but its a 1st gen hi-md, so it only plays atrac files natively, not mp3. the second gen ones (dh10, rh10, rh910) play mp3 normally. if you get a first gen hi-md recorder, be sure to download an updated version of the sonicstage software. the software that shipped with...- Seroka2

what do you guys use to hold your DAP and amp together?
high quality adhesive velcro works really well. and bumpersticker remover will take it off cleanly if you want to take it off and sell it later.- Seroka2

Sonic Stage is Really P**ssing me Off
i had the same problem with my hd3 when i updated my version of sonicstage. i solved it by formatting or initializing my player. you should be able to do this through sonicstage. it should say how through the help menu. good luck.- Seroka2

Neuros Portables feedback wanted- Hardware
just figure i'd throw in what i'd like to see - glad you're so focused on sound quality: Must haves: - large hard drive - high quality dac - great amp that can drive both a power hungry headphone and a sensitive IEM properly - of course, no background static like so many other players -...- Seroka2

Anyone Use the 'Line-Out' Switch on NW-HD1?
i run a mini to mini from my hd3 to a portable amp. i get a very clean signal and it sounds great, but i don't believe that its a "true" line out. instead, i believe it just sets the eq at flat and puts the volume level at about 80%. i don't believe the battery can supply that much current.- Seroka2

Best headphones for working out @ the gym?
i've used several shures at the gym. no annoying microphonics or anything. they work great except when some guy's yelling at you to get off a machine. i recommend using them with the triflange tips. and pushing them in to get a tight seal. i used to use foamies, but the sweat gets through and...- Seroka2

Sony HD1 - I LIKE ATRAC3Plus, Should I get A Close-Out for $229?
i see you're using e5cs. with less sensitive headphones it would be alright, but if the hd1 hisses like the hd3 does with my e5s, its not worth it. sounds great with an amp, but really annoying without one. you don't need to be an audiophile to notice it. its too bad, there is no hiss with the...- Seroka2

Review: Sony NW-HD5
You're using e5c with the hd5? i use my e5s with the hd3, but i get a lot of background hiss unless i use an amp. is this still true with the hd5 or have they fixed the problem? (the hiss was a constant background hiss that didn't increase when the volume was increased) if you really are deaf...- Seroka2

Need help for recommending a amp for my e5
I've been using my e5s with the supermacro v3. no hiss and greatly improved sound coming from the hd3 (which sounds terrible with the e5s without an amp - or maybe that's because i know what it sounds like with the supermacro). haven't tried many other amps (just a headroom one), but this combo...- Seroka2

E5c: mixed feelings
i find the e5c very comfortable with the foamies. if your ears are shaped right, they fit in their like a hearing aid. and you do get better bass but less treble than with the silicone or triflange. if you're still having trouble with the triflange, try pulling down on your earlobe while...- Seroka2

God am I confused choosing the right player!!!
i think the 600d might be the best for you. Its selling on ebay for $70 now. i think it would be difficult having a flash player as your only player. fine for commuting, but you'd get sick of hearing the same 1gb of music if you went on a trip. while not the smallest, but hi-md is expandable for...- Seroka2

There's a .wav convertor program out now from sony. http://esupport.sony.com/perl/swu-li...e=EN&mdl=MZNH1 its at the bottom of the page. i know it works with Hi-MD units. Don't know about NetMD, but its worth a try.- Seroka2

Sony NW-HD3 (full review)
I understand. I had an (irrational) aversion to buying an ipod as well. Probably because I use a Mac a work and I thought an ipod would remind me of what a wage slave I am. Anyway, I have a HD3 and sometimes use my woman's ipod: 1. The HD3 scrolls through the menus and plays songs fast. At...- Seroka2

Sony NW-HD3 (full review)
I have a japanese model HD3 and i listen to it with e5c. i can't hear the hiss with other headphones except very slightly with the e3- but its definitely there with the e5, probably because its the most sensitive earphone i have. very annoying. it doesn't increase with volume, so its not a...- Seroka2

Sony NW-HD3 (full review)
The DRM's not a big deal. You understand it correctly. It just means that you can't upload your mp3s to the computer, only download. I played with both the HD1 and HD3. They're essentially the same thing. The HD1 may have been a little lighter, but not significantly. The display on the HD1 is...- Seroka2

Sony NW-HD3 (full review)
killer, It sorts them both ways. It uses the ID3 tags for sorting by artist, album, or genre. You can also search by group (the file structure in the player) which is usually the same as album, depending on how you put the files on sonicstage. Search by group is not very useful, since the HD3...- Seroka2

Sony NW-HD3 (full review)
I have a red one. the outside of the wheel is shiny silver and the inside is a flat grew. it looks good. and the red color is more like the second set of pictures. (the first set was too light and pinkish). its a little brighter than the second set but still deep. and i'm a guy. nobody will...- Seroka2

Sony NW-HD3 (full review)
HJDM: I got my HD3 about a week ago - - 1. Yes, there's a case. I've seen some leather ones. I bought one from sonystyle. It was made for the HD1. It fits the HD3 too, but it overlaps the left side of the controls a little bit (but not so much that you can't use it.) it has an annoying...- Seroka2
