I think a slight downside to the se100 is that it can sound a bit too clinical? I feel the music is more engaging with my andromeda s out of my o2/sdac or even se100+creative e5 amp. Do people here feel the same?

The first thing you’ll notice is how clean the sound is compared to 3.5mm. As for sibilance not that I know of but I think it’s tip dependent. I feel there’s more bass although I can’t say whether it makes the music more enjoyable or not.

Yes true but warranty might be an issue too. For example for the Shures it says customs arrivals, no packaging, no accessories. Personally I'll just get a 2nd hand.   I'll be going Beijing in a months time, I'm definitely going to their electronics market hunting for these!
