    My 570 doesn't output 5.1 LPCM over HDMI anymore

    don't connect to my tv and receiver too often but I noticed that I can only output stereo now when I used to be able to output 5.1. I used to be able to get 5.1 when I had Windows 7 but it doesn't seem to work on Windows 8. Anybody else experience this? Got any ideas? I have a Onkyo 605 receiver...

    Did anyone pick up the new Deftones album Koi No Yokan?

    I bought it on HD Tracks and it seems to have a better master than the cd release. Great album so far.

    Would I get any improvement from going from a X-Fi Platinum to a X-Fi Titanium HD?

    I have a 5 year old X-Fi Platinum and I keep reading things about the X-Fi Titanium HD and it kind of looks tempting. I have Pro Media 2.1 speakers and HD555 headphones.

    What is the point of a USB headset?

    Logitech seems to make a lot of these. Why would someone go with a USB connector instead of a traditional analog connector? Does it sound better?

    Are there any on board audio chips that sound good without a soundcard or external DAC?

    My P5W DH Deluxe has Realtek ALC882M  and my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers sound awful on it compared to my X-Fi. Has on board audio improved since 2007, do any of the newer ones sound good?

    What sound settings should I use in Windows?

    My X-Fi has it's own sample rate setting which doesn't seem to change the sample rate and bit depth in the Windows Control Panel. Quicktime also has it's own settings and you chose which synthesizer to use. Should I just set everything to the highest my device supports?

    Would it improve sound quality if conected the toslink from X-Fi to my TX-SR605 and used the receivers headphone jack?

    Isn't that pretty much what a DAC is? Sorry in advance for the noob question. I was just wondering since I keep reading about DAC's and I'm currently flat broke and I already bought the receiver a few years back.

    Can someone help me with my problems with my x-fi platinum and zune software 4.2?
