hmmm i am kind of new here but i am not sure those are even DACs? they appear to be more of a usb sound solution for doing some recording coupled with a high quality usb soundcard. if you are not a musician or need to record voice overs via mic i am pretty sure your money will be much better...

yes i am normally extremely impatient, there is just so much knowledge and a great community here, it is hard not to get stuck in pre buying analysis mode. and yeah it does appear as though the ef2 is indeed a hybrid.

well i am more concerned with the hd600's at this point. i have always heard wonderful things about the warm sound of tube amps and i am really eager to hear how one sounds. i can already see this hobby growing into a wallet destroying beast, this is more research than i have ever done before...

yeah i am definately going the dedicated amp route. i was thinking about going with the little dot mkIII. that would be a pretty sufficient amp for any of these phones in a moderate price range, no? i am curious to try out a tube amp as well.
