Review of Meier Audio Corda JAZZ with ƒƒ-technology upgrade

I was lucky enough to recently find a near mint Corda Jazz ff on eBay. I've been wanting to get a Corda amp with crossfeed for some time. I made a passive crossfeed based on a Linkwitz design, and would hate to listen to headphones without crossfeed. Its great that I now have it integrated into...

From Sennheiser HD 650 to HiFiMAN HE-400i... there's no way back!

Really nice review DeBilbao! I just got the 400i's last month and love them, and agree with your observations, they were spot on. I agree comfort is very important so you listen to the music and not the headphones. The great comfort of the 400i allows you to do that. BTW - just listened to...

    Tinnitus

Playing music for time, or being around alot of background noise makes mine worse. Sometimes I can make it better by playing a single tone near the tinnitus tone I have.   FYI - an interesting site worth checking out: http://plasticity.szynalski.com/faq.htm

    Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners

Those are all great models!   I would also consider the late 70s  early 80s CR series Yamaha's (e.g CR-1020, CR-640, etc) - they are very clean sounding, well designed receivers, and are quite reliable for older models in my experience (I still have my original CR-450 from the mid 70s), and...

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

Yeah, that a nice combo, I've thought about those for a while. My Little Dot I+ with some Russian Voskhod tubes is also a nice pairing (helps smooth my Grado's out a bit).  I don't have as as much issues with the high end on the 400's as some, but I EQ to my taste and on my 400's a reduction...

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

+1 - I've got a small head (S hat size) and they fit great on the first notch. I'm really surprised how comfortable they are.

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

I have the HE-400's and as of today the 400i's. I'm using a Magni/Modi with them and they sound great. For the money they are hard to beat.

    Tinnitus

Yeah, sometimes I don't notice it until I notice it ;-) - I've made sure not to listen to any music too loud, and luckily it hasn't got worse over the last year.

    Tinnitus

+1 -  Having worked in live sound and and other audio work many moons ago, I have no problem EQing headphones to get the best sound for my ears. For my main listening stations, I have h/w 10 band/channel EQ's on both, and tweak the sound for the specific phones and my listening preferences...

Battle Of The Flagships (58 Headphones Compared)

I think we here at Head-Fi have the right to confer an honorary doctorate on David. He's got my vote! Dr. David Solomon- . Dr. of Headgeareology :-)

    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

I bought the J$ angled pads for my D2K's a few years ago and used them until end of last year when I bought Mark's pads. Mark's were better, and increased the soundstage as the opening on his pads were bigger. I would definitely recommend wood cups/damping to anyone with stock D2k's mainly to...

    A partial history of headphones

^ Yes, I'm not an expert, but know most current applications of 3D printing are mostly for prototyping, but there are also those in the military and elsewhere (aerospace, medical) that are already using 3D printing to manufacture parts. But I was going along with what the future might bring, and...

    A partial history of headphones

Nice article. Having Hifiman's, I think companies like them, Audeze (and Stax) can up the bar further in the near term as new composite materials (3D printing?) could make them better, especially from a price/performance point of view. Koss Pro 4AA's were my first real headphones too. Big and...

    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

This is what I have. I got some damping when I got my Bubinga cups from Mark, but never did the full MarkL mod. But just That, plus his new angled pads are really made a difference, especially in firming up the bass. Though my main squeeze is now my HE-400s, I still love my modded D2000s.

    Winston-Salem / Triad meet (April 20th, 2013) Impressions

I meant to ask someone when I was at the meet. Does anyone know who I could get work done on a vintage Marantz receiver? I need some work and a recap. Is there anyone good in this general area any of you guys know of?

    Winston-Salem / Triad meet (April 20th, 2013) Impressions

I reposted my pics in my gallery here: http://www.head-fi.org/g/a/763294/winstaon-salem-meet-4-2013   Like I said in the other thread, I had a great time, great to meet other Head-fi'ers - it was my first meet so it was cool to try out a lot of gear I hadn't heard before. I wish I could...

    Winston-Salem / Triad meet (April 20th, 2013)

I really had a great time yesterday - I met some really nice people and listened to some very cool gear. I know there was a lot of stuff I missed - including wanting to A/B more amps with the same headphone. I finally got to listen to some LCD-2's and 3's (really nice), some HD-800s which were...

Usually, that depends on what is In the music being mixed. But from a studio mixing book I had: "Brilliance — The 6kHz to 16kHz range controls the brilliance and clarity of sounds. Too much emphasis in this range, however, can produce sibilance on the vocals. " For the music I listen too, I...

Cans vs Speakers pound for pound.

It is apples and oranges I think. Speakers among other things have room acoustics / natural crossfeed you don't get with headphones, giving a more 'being there' sound. I'm a speaker guy from way back(still have 5+ pairs), but since getting married I now listen less to speakers and more to my...

    Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners

The 1020 is a great receiver. I've got one now and it is my HP amp for my D2000s. I think it sounds great, lots of power and a clean, neutral sound. I sold these back in the70s but never had a pair of their orthos, so I don't really remember how they sounded.

+1 I've never heard the Audese's but hope so at an upcoming meet. That said though, with a little added EQ I really love my 400s now and have no upgraditis, I'm just enjoying the music.
