iPhone Not Recognizing Sennheiser HDVD800
I would appreciate some help here. For many years, I’ve connected my iPhone to my HDVD800 through the camera connection kit to a USB B. For the past few days, my phone has stopped recognizing the amp. I replaced the camera connection kit, but to no avail. I’m thinking maybe it’s a software...- NewNeophyte

Bluetooth Transmitter
I have a similar question that I'm not sure where best to post. The lightning port on my phone is breaking. My camera connection kit to USB setup disconnects every time I adjust my phone, so I'm thinking of connecting it to my DAC/amp via Bluetooth. Any thoughts on if/how that would affect the...- NewNeophyte

Official Unofficial 8XX Discussion Thread - UPDATE SENNHEISER HAS BEEN SOLD!!! GT(heck)IH
My question is: in terms of how this graph translates to human-perceived sound, does it justify $1100? I have no sense of how to answer that lol- NewNeophyte

Official Unofficial 8XX Discussion Thread - UPDATE SENNHEISER HAS BEEN SOLD!!! GT(heck)IH
I'm clearly behind the times here with all this fancy 800s. I have the regular 800 with a Super Dupont mod. Can anyone offer their thoughts on how that might compare to an 800s and then speculate a step further to the 8xx? I'm hesitantly considering this purchase, but like a lot of people have...- NewNeophyte

The title says it all. After updating the iOS, the Audirect Beam isn’t being recognized by the iPhone 7. Has anyone had success resolving this? Thank you!- NewNeophyte

flinkenick's 17 Flagship IEM Shootout Thread (and general high-end portable audio discussion)
Ah, I could’ve sworn I saw a review for the LS8 on your site. Yeah, the plan is to sell, so I hoping for “better” in a purse sense. I’ll post my impressions when I’ve had a chance to compare them!- NewNeophyte

flinkenick's 17 Flagship IEM Shootout Thread (and general high-end portable audio discussion)
Hey Nick, I know you’ve reviewed the both the Rooth LS8 and the Perfect Seal Deca. I have an LS8 and just bought a Deca (hasn’t arrived yet), so I’m wondering how they compare. Hopefully the Deca’s noticeably better and I didn’t just waste all that money lol- NewNeophyte

Next Step from Rooth LS8
Hey knowledgable audiophiles, I've had a pair of Rooth LS8's for awhile, and I'm ready to move on. I'm ideally looking for something with present but not overbearing bass. I like a neutral sound signature with some bass kick, and overall clarity and precision is the most important factor. My...- NewNeophyte

I wasn't sure where exactly to post this, but I can't get my iPhone 7 to recognize my Fiio i1. Does anyone else have this problem or, better yet, a solution?- NewNeophyte

This is a digression from the current topic, but were you able to get the i1 to work with the new iOS? My iPhone claims not to recognize it.- NewNeophyte

Apple Camera Connection Kit Problems
Hi all, I'm having a problem with the Apple Camera Connection Kit. I'm listening through my iPhone SE with CCK 3.0 with power port. I have connected through a Cardas Clear USB into a Sennheiser HDVD800. Every few minutes or so, the sound just stops and I have to unplug the CCK and plug it back...- NewNeophyte

Pure i-20 iPod/iPhone Dock as a DAC
Oh thanks for clarifying. I totally missed the lightning input it had; I thought that was an SD slot or something camera-related. Now there remains the whole issue of audio clarity from the streaming sources themselves...- NewNeophyte

Pure i-20 iPod/iPhone Dock as a DAC
Pardon my ignorance, but I'm a little confused about how the device would power the iPhone and also transmit the audio when it only has 1 USB connection.- NewNeophyte

Pure i-20 iPod/iPhone Dock as a DAC
My main goal is to bypass the iPhone's built-in DAC as cheaply as possible so I can use the one in the HDVD800. For now, I'm content just using the DAC in the HDVD800, it's good enough for my ears :)- NewNeophyte

Pure i-20 iPod/iPhone Dock as a DAC
My iPod classic has finally reached the end of the line, so I'm going to move into the streaming world. Can anyone recommend a DAC along the lines of the i-20 (similar price point hopefully) that will accept an iPhone SE for input?- NewNeophyte

Pure i-20 iPod/iPhone Dock as a DAC
I'm using the Coaxial, but the Toslink sounds exactly the same so it's just a matter of cord preference. My coaxial cable is shorter, so it makes for less mess.- NewNeophyte

Pure i-20 iPod/iPhone Dock as a DAC
For the amp and DAC, I'm using the Sennheiser HDVD-800. I just got the i20 today and WOW! Easily the best improvement imaginable for under $100! The soundstage is vastly expanded, and the detailing has improved dramatically. Highly recommended.- NewNeophyte

Pure i-20 iPod/iPhone Dock as a DAC
Also, realizing that I strayed too far from the original topic of the thread, would using the i-20 as a transport noticeably improve the sound quality of my iPod audio as played through an HDVD-800 and HD-800s? For 90-some dollars, any improvement seems well worth the modest cost.- NewNeophyte

Pure i-20 iPod/iPhone Dock as a DAC
I believe the HDVD800's DAC is self-powered, although I'm not 100% certain. So let's I buy something like this 30-pin to female USB but for an iPod rather than a Samsung--...- NewNeophyte

Do the HD800-S still support the same cables as the HD800? I just bought a Norne Draug cable that I love, but I'm thinking about upgrading to these.- NewNeophyte
