    Best Recording of Beethoven's Pathetique?

Im a fan of Horowitz personally, they have his stuff on youtube. I feel like a lot of the other performers are either too rough or too fast or both, but thats just me.

    Wire replacements for klipsch promedia

Yeah, I know absolutely nothing about wiring plugs and wires together so that's out. I tried resplicing wires for an old pair of broken headphones, no success. And I'm just curious, as far as attaching different/better speakers, is there some guidelines/specs to follow so that the new speakers...

    Wire replacements for klipsch promedia

So one of the wires went bad on me and Im thinking that instead of getting a replacement from Klipsch I might as well get brand new wire for both speakers because I heard it makes a difference, since the Klipsch wire is supposedly terrible. The question is how big of a difference will I hear...

    A few questions about portables/IEM's (KSC75's, E3C's, PK's, The Plug)

Yeah I'm probably gonna stick with the plug for now just so that I can have a pair to run with, and then get something good. So would you say that the PK1s trump the KSC75 in every way?

    A few questions about portables/IEM's (KSC75's, E3C's, PK's, The Plug)

So I bought a pair of KSC75's and I loved the sound, especially I guess what you'd call the soundstage. Unfortunately the left driver started rattling and they were terrible for running (kept falling off) and leaked too much to be portables so I exchanged them for...... Koss's THE PLUG. Good...

    Alessandro Warranty

Alessandro/Grado is great with their warranty. After 3 years, they still took mine back for repair. I think it might have been Lifetime when I bought it so they might have changed it since then. They really had no way of knowing when I bought mine when I e-mailed them about it though.

Looking for a portable pair of cans, unamped, <$60

Alright, just hypothetically, if I were to bump my budget up to say $150, what would my choices look like? The PK1s seem perfect but I believe they need an amp. Confirm/Deny?

Looking for a portable pair of cans, unamped, <$60

The AKG's seem nice but they're a bit bulky for me. When I say portable I mean nothing bigger than the igrados. The beyers seem o-kay but I'd rather have something a bit smaller. As for the iGrados, do they leak as much as MS-1s? Earbuds aren't out of the question either, if there are any...

Looking for a portable pair of cans, unamped, <$60

I've searched around and I more or less narrowed my choices down to one of the KSC cans (35s?) or the iGrados. I'm seriously considering the iGrado since I love my MS-1s but I was wondering how the two compare. I really like the sound of the MS-1s but I hear that the SR-60's are lacking a...

Speakers for my computer, <$150. Recommendations?

How do monitors sound? Do they pack a punch at all? I feel odd paying almost 200 dollars for a pair of speakers that don't even come with a woofer.

Odd, can't find the thread. How much are the edifiers? And are the two speakers I listed any good?

Speakers for my computer, <$150. Recommendations?

First of all, are any of the 2.1 setups on newegg.com and such any good? Some I've been looking at: Klipsch 2.1 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836119101 Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 http://www.cambridgesoundworks.com/s...&item=c1swzzzz I don't know anything about bookshelf...

foobar 0.9.4.2 randomly rebooting with KS + AV710

I just reinstalled XP and am now trying to get foobar working. I'm using 1.43d drivers, and when I turn on kernel streaming and try to play a song, it starts playing but after a second or so my computer just reboots. If I do DirectSound, it runs fine. Also, after looking over the new foobar, am...

Do you guys listen to the gear you buy before you buy it?

Yeah I was just reading the thread about the Tampa meet but I don't have a car. I'll probably have one by the end of the year though, so the next time there's a meet, you can count me in. Hopefully I'll have more than just MS-1's with a half-faulty cable to bring to it, too. And DocHamm, if...

Do you guys listen to the gear you buy before you buy it?

Reading about headphones is nice and all but I'm at the level where if I'm going to be upgrading, it's going to be $300 and up and I'd like to hear something before dishing out the dough. And while people's opinions on the MS-1 were close enough to unanimous for me to be pretty confident with...

Help me start my Audiophile Adventure!

I've owned the MS-1's for 2 and a half years and it's pretty much all I've been listening to. Soundwise, I doubt it could be better for the price. Build quality wise, they could have done a lot better. I've had to send it back to the factory once for a rattling left ear and once more because the...

shure e3c dropped its tip in my ear :)

This used to happen to me all the time with E3C's, whether the tips were recently cleaned or not. I foudn that one way to keep this from happening was to pull your ear back with one hand and take the headphone out with the other. Doing this straightens your ear canal and makes the headphone come...

    Moving up a tier.

I'm looking at around <$600 right now but it may be stretched in the future. As far as sources go, I'm using an AV-710 right now which sounds totally decent as far as I'm concerned.

    Moving up a tier.

Due to certain events in the financial department, I may soon be able to go up a step from my MS-1's+Pimeta to.. well.. something better. Too early to tell how much better it will be, but I've been looking at the MS-2's and they look pretty good. Now, the first question is, how much...
