Does anyone know if utilizing current feedback topology will increase the response this amp has to a quality power cable or power source? I usually wouldn't go to extremes with something in this price category, but this amp (which I've also pre-ordered) seems to be in a category of its own...

If I hear it, it's there. I hear a more satisfying reproduction from DSD, whether it's well engineered or not. The format allows for more information, good or bad, and more information, if audible, is something I enjoy hearing. My two cents...worth little, but there you have it. :-)

I think well recorded redbook, with proper (world class) DAC implementation, can sound out of this world.  My stereo rig is based on that: Beyond Frontiers Audio Tulip Integrated amp and Selah Audio Ottavios.  That being said, for $500 DSD through the iDSD sounds ridiculous!  

I'm fairly certain the speakers in that room were my pair of Ottavios...and I love them like no other speaker.  So, so good at everything a speaker is asked to do.  Good idea teaming up with a guy like Rick...he knows his stuff!

Is it strange that I hear a difference between FLAC and WAV files in JRIVER?  I prefer WAV every time.

My EM5813s are nice, but finicky in regards to placement.  If they're not perfectly placed in my ears, I lose a lot of the tonal balance.  Overall I like them, but it would be nice if the A8s were a bit less touchy when it comes to placement. 

PLEASE pm me with the recipe for those ICs...I detect some Dueland, and that makes me very, very curious!

Anyone listening to the iDSD Nano with Cardas EM5813s? I'm thinking it might be a great portable combo for those with Audeze/iFi home rigs...like myself. 

This whole thread has me absolutely salivating for the final product...can't wait to learn more!  

  Agreed...the treble issue I mentioned earlier is not a harshness, just not quite a perfect reproduction of those frequencies.  These are very pleasing headphones in nearly every respect.

I wonder how much of the sound difference we hear at the level of DSD is due to the electronics versus the format itself.  Given that any compared products are reasonably well designed and implemented, perhaps the iFi just hits the perfect price point that satisfies the format without any...

Save some of your budget for front end and get the Cardas EM5813s.  Their sonic signature is what you're looking for, and I'd say there's little to be gained by spending more for IEMs. I enjoy mine quite a bit!
