Lake People V181: a new balanced amp <$1000

Wasn't there a thread discussing that a true balanced system requires dual mono power source?   Isn't that why the Beta22 and Audio-GD Phoenix both use dual mono power source and all of Audio-GD balanced power amps have dedicated power per channel?

How to get a big soundstage in any can - no modding.

Quote: Funniest post I've read on Head-Fi this week.  I refuse to learn, I will adamantly remain ignorant and refuse to learn to use it.  I do not like it, I will dismiss it even though I haven't a clue!   Awesome post.

    Where did Symphones go?

Check the magnum thread.  Seems the website and all traces of Sympones is gone atm and supposedly only Currawong has had contact with him.     Good luck, hope you at least get refunded.

Ultrasone HFI 580, HFI 780, Ultrasone DJ1 Pro Vs Audio Technica ATH-M50

Quote: The difference is do you want quantity or do you want quality?   My favorite producers, none of them use quantity bass headphones.  Armin van Burren uses K701s.  BT I've seen using Sony's which are also fairly bass light.  I believe Paul van Dyke uses a pair of Pioneer which...

Beginner Set Up for Around $500

http://www.audio-gd.com/PriceList.htm   You want the basic version for your budget.   There are other options, but can't think of another option that would come close to the FUN for the price.   There are other comparable choices, but they cost $200-300 for DAC and Amp, looking at...

Beginner Set Up for Around $500

Audio-GD Fun - $190 (Solid State Discrete Class A DAC and Amp). Sennheiser HD600/HD650 - $350 -  HD650 gives you the bass in a open air headphone.  HD600 a little more balanced.   There you go.  You got yourself a nice DAC, a desktop amp and a pair of world class headphones.     IMO...

    Closed headphones for DJing

Of those HD 25 II should have the best isolation.  BTW these are a lot bigger than they look in pictures.  Should cover your ears and create a very nice seal.

AKG K271 MK II vs AKG 272 HD (enlighten me, what's are the differences)

Now I'm looking for a closed pair.  Thinking of AKG.  I'm having a hard time understanding the differences between these two.   I don't care about the difference in detachable cable or appearances.  Can someone with experience with these AKG explain the sonic differences or any other notable...

SENNHEISER HD650..... Best desktop AMP / DAC!?

Quote: The Audio-GD fun has a very good DAC built in already.  Digital Analog Converter.  All music on CDs, mp3, etc are digital, as in zeros and ones.  You have to convert that digital signal to analog.  Headphones/speakers are analog.   Now think about this, not all DAC will convert...
