Wasn't there a thread discussing that a true balanced system requires dual mono power source?   Isn't that why the Beta22 and Audio-GD Phoenix both use dual mono power source and all of Audio-GD balanced power amps have dedicated power per channel?

Quantity?   Check out the Beyerdynamic DT770, Sony XB700, Ultrasone HFI 550, anything from Denon.

Replace the A900.  Look on eBay or on the on sale forum.  You should be able to find a good price.  Don't go lower, stick to your A900s!

Of those HD 25 II should have the best isolation.  BTW these are a lot bigger than they look in pictures.  Should cover your ears and create a very nice seal.
