Sony WF-1000XM4 Impressions Thread
I got my XM4's last week and they have been amazing in every category except comfort. Before I return them I want to try them with silicone ear tips. My primary goal is to find the most comfortable silicone ear tips out there. The ones that I see mentioned the most are the Spinfit CP360, ePro...- mrmonday

Best competitive gaming headphone under $500?
I'm glad to hear from you since you had the same experience. I really don't need a mic since I have a Modmic and a Shure SM7B, but the Takstar would work. I see that the Pro 80 was replaced by the Pro 82, do you think it will be equally good?- mrmonday

Best competitive gaming headphone under $500?
I ordered the DT770 pro 250 ohm because it was recommended a lot along with the other Beyers for competitive gaming. I need closed-back for LAN party use. I've been really disappointed with the imaging on the DT770. I'm using Oratory1990's EQ settings and it's really difficult to pinpoint enemy...- mrmonday

Best competitive gaming headphone under $500?
Which closed back has the best imaging? I have a T40RP Mk3 and they're decent closed planars. I've never had an issue with my mouse or keyboard being distracting, but I do have quiet switches. I always find that the added soundstage and typically reduced bass of open backs is worth the sound...- mrmonday

Best competitive gaming headphone under $500?
I use both open and closed back headphones for gaming and I prefer open back unless there is some outside noise. I agree that from my experience imaging has been better with dynamic drivers.- mrmonday

Best competitive gaming headphone under $500?
I considered the Sundara's, but I read that while it has a decent soundstage, the imaging isn't as good as other options in its price range. I'm currently thinking of either the Tygr 300r or the DT990 600ohm- mrmonday

Best competitive gaming headphone under $500?
Thanks for the recommendations! I'm looking for something open back. I find that open back is better for positioning, immersion, imaging etc. I also have a ModMic so I would prefer something without a mic.- mrmonday

Best competitive gaming headphone under $500?
I'm interested in what you guys think is the best competitive gaming headphone under $500. Bonus points if it's also great for music. I'm ideally looking for something neutral, with no V-shaped sound signature.- mrmonday

Best silver/aluminum desk DAC/amp around $400
Agreed, I've only changed to the Shure pads, they're good as is but could definitely improve with some mods. I love my TH-X00 That's true, I just want something chunkier on my desk, the Schiit stack looks so weak Yeah, I've been recommended the ATH AD700X before but I think I want something...- mrmonday

Best silver/aluminum desk DAC/amp around $400
I currently have the Fostex T50RP MK3, Fostex TH-X00 PH, and the Philips Fidelio X2 I've been using the X2 for gaming and I would like to upgrade to something with better imaging and soundstage. I have also been wanting to add a good vocal-centric headphone to my collection. I have been...- mrmonday

Best silver/aluminum desk DAC/amp around $400
Interesting, this guy went from a Jotunheim to the Magnius/Modius stack and found the stack far superior: LINK Unfortunately, the Jot 2 is too new for there to be any good deals out there, and the version with the multibit DAC built-in is $600, which is over budget. Currently, none of my...- mrmonday

Best silver/aluminum desk DAC/amp around $400
So you think a used Jotunheim 1 with internal DAC would be a better option than a Magnius/Modius stack?- mrmonday

Sennheiser PC38X won't work with my Schiit stack, what's the best DAC with a mic input?
So I ordered the PC38X as my new competitive gaming headset and I thought that I would be able to plug the audio line into my Schiit stack and the mic input into my motherboard, but apparently this causes a bunch of interference. So, it seems like the ModMic would have been the better solution...- mrmonday

Best dynamic driver Chinese IEM under $100
I recently watched Steve Guttenberg's review on the T2 Pro and it got me thinking that I should upgrade my gym headphones since there are such good options under $100. I love the build quality on these but I'de like to have something with similar detail but more bass response. Does this exist?- mrmonday

Best silver/aluminum desk DAC/Amp under $200
It has a silver front panel but the case itself is black. Good suggestion though. I am willing to push my budget to $300.- mrmonday

Best silver/aluminum desk DAC/Amp under $200
Ya, the liquid spark has silver but is also black. I'm looking for that raw aluminum look so I guess I need to decide between the Schiit stack and the iFi nano. I also have computer speakers, can I plug those directly into the pre amp output on the back of the Magni?- mrmonday

Best silver/aluminum desk DAC/Amp under $200
Thanks, I have had my eye on the Schiit stack for awhile. I've just been wondering if there was a better bang for buck option. I'm also looking at SMSL and Topping, but they seem to be lower quality. I'm not sure I understand the suggestions in parentheses, they aren't silver/raw aluminum.- mrmonday

Best silver/aluminum desk DAC/Amp under $200
I'm looking for a silver or white desk DAC/Amp combo or stack under $200. I will be buying it used so it can retail over $200 as long as it usually sells for $200 and below used. I currently use Fostex T50RP Mk3 and TH-X00 PH. Any suggestions?- mrmonday

Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3
Doesn't the t40rpmk3 have a slightly different driver from the 20 and 50? Could that be part of the reason it is lacking bass? I would like to keep them as isolated as possible so I might try the felt idea.- mrmonday

Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3
Sorry to interrupt conversation but I didn't want to create a new thread. I purchased the t40rpmk3 when they first came out with the rebate last year primarily because they were the only closed option of the three. I swiftly replaced the pads with the SRH840 pads, but I have always felt that...- mrmonday

I have tried it both ways, I think I prefer it wrapped around like you had on the mk2. Can confirm, these headphones sound excellent! I really want to experiment with modding but I am a little scarred.- mrmonday

Fostex new RP headphones - T50RPmk3, T40RPmk3 and T20RPmk3
I agree that they are mid centric. What mods do you suggest for the t40rp mk3? I would like a little more bass extension and a little less harsh treble but unfortunately the bass boost on my cayin c5 makes them wub wub wub too much. I would rather not read through this entire thread to find the...- mrmonday
