Your Favorite Band of All Time
It has gone back and forth between 3 bands over the years. The Beatles - The original best band of all time for me. Mr.Bungle - Their 1991 album first broke me free of all other questionable music of that era I was listening to. Really expanded what music could be. Stereolab - So many good...- Stanislaus

What SE tube/hybrid amp between $250-500 do you own?
I just received the HiFiMAN EF2 today and for $200 I'm about ready to stop at that. With my HD580s I'm pretty close to where I want to be sound wise without spending more then I need to.- Stanislaus

REVIEW: Head-direct.com HiFiMan EF2 tube Hybrid Amp with USB DAC
EF2 just arrived. Using HD580s - Compared to my iBasso D3 with roughly 125 hours using DAC/Amp and Ef2 with 0-1 hours using DAC/Amp: Highs- brighter/bit harsher, not as smooth Mids- seem a little louder not as smooth Lows-I can notice the extra power vs the D3. Bass is a bit fuller. Less...- Stanislaus

Budget-fi DAC/Amp help (sub $200)
Also have a look at the HiFiMAN EF2 at $189. It's a desktop hybrid DAC/Amp. I cannot comment on the sound quality though as mine hasn't arrived yet. It does get good remarks for the under $200 category from some of the members here. Here is the main thread on...- Stanislaus

Full-size H/phone newbies, don't make the same mistake I did.
I also fiddled around with placement on my HD580s and noticed the same thing. I have the back of the pads just barely touching the backs of my ears. Just sounds better that way to me.- Stanislaus

What kind of AMP should i get?
If you are looking to spend that much somewhere around the 1K range you could get the Pico DAC and Woo Audio WA6 amp with power supply upgrade. If I upgrade in the future that is the route I will be going.- Stanislaus

I'm still waiting for my EF2 to be delivered but it seems like a lot of the people in this thread who purchased one have already moved on to other amps.- Stanislaus

Which decade/time-period had the worst mainstream music/image?
Mainstream. This one for sure. The 80's for as odd as they were at least had a extremely odd originality.- Stanislaus

Sennheiser Headphone holder-great headphone stand for only about $13:
I also just took delivery of one of these. Works really well clamped on my desk shelf with my HD580s. Frees up space that would otherwise be taken up by a headphone stand. Though I am considering modding it by removing the headband rest and replacing it with a 1/8 inch bar through the peg... -

Help Needed: JVC SU-DH1 to a Pair of Headphones
Look at my sig. I have a Behringer Powerplay Pro HA4600 (discontinued but newer models available). It works great for my PS3 Movie Setup in my apartment. It has 4 headphone outputs so 4 people can listen. It has separate bass, treble, balance, and output nobs so you can tweak the sound...- Stanislaus

Thanks for the responses. I went ahead and ordered the EF2. I guess I'll burn it in alone and with the D3 DAC and swap in some 6AK5s later. Then I will report my results. Guess in the end I'm looking for one unit to have on my desk but if I'm not happy here the next step will be Pico...- Stanislaus

REVIEW: Head-direct.com HiFiMan EF2 tube Hybrid Amp with USB DAC
I'm using stock HD580s with a iBasso D3. With the D3 I'm enjoying the spaciousness, detail in the highs and mids but the bass seems weak and flabby on certain songs. It just feels like the 580s need more power. So I guess my main question is is the EF2 as a DAC/AMP a better choice then the D3 as...- Stanislaus
