PIMETA v2 next build?
I have been building various cmoy amps and I've built a bantamdac. I thought I saw that the PIMETA v2 boards were available for sale. Is it true? If it is, do you think it would be a good next project for me?- Ashkii21

Sony D-133
Ok thx, I found a user manual. It says: Quote: Output (at 4.5V input level) Line Output Output Level 0.7 V rms at 50 kilohms Load Impedance over 10 kilohms Headphone 15 mW + 15 mW at 16 ohms The manual was dated, 1994. I kind of have an idea what this means.- Ashkii21

Sony D-133
I just picked up a Sony D-133 from goodwill today. I put some batteries in it and it works fine. I tried looking up online for specs of this portable cd player but couldn't find any. I picked it up because it has a line out jack along with a headphone jack. It sounds nice especially with a...- Ashkii21

Building Block Of Life Found On Comet
Yeah that is interesting to find glycine on a comet and in 1969 on meteorites. If I remember right, glycine is one of the simplest amino acids with just a single hydrogen for the R group.- Ashkii21

Hamburger War? in UT?
One of my sisters lives in Provo. She said that she ate at Chadders and she said it was good. In fact she said that she prefers Chadders over In-N-Out. I haven't been to Chadders, maybe when I go back up to Utah I'll have to try it. But for now In-N-Out is what I like.- Ashkii21

Hamburger War? in UT?
I found this article interesting, because I went to college in Utah. ksl.com - Burger war about to heat up in Provo I really do like In-N-Out, it is one of the places where I can get a single hamburger without onions and have it wrapped in lettuce (Protein-style). It is also pretty good for...- Ashkii21

I voted for The Lion King, but if Fantasia was up there, that would've got my vote. (I didn't choose "other" because The Lion King is one of my favorites)- Ashkii21

How much do you pay for gas?
Right now in the high country of AZ, it is $2.35 for the cheapest. I was down in Phoenix last week and it was a little higher for gas there.- Ashkii21

bantam dac not working
I am not sure but is the IC1 sensitive to static? I know the PCM2702 is, and I may be wrong but I think the TPS regulators are sensitive to static. When I built my BantamDAC I had to resolder/reflow IC1 to get the voltages correct.- Ashkii21

G.I. Joe...uhh..impressions
Hmm, I watched GI Joe yesterday also. I also watched the 1st Transformers movie when it first came out but not the second. This GI Joe movie reminded me most of the cartoons I use to watch growing up in the 80s between the two movies. The transformers movie was different than it's cartoon, at...- Ashkii21

Ear Wax/Junk Removal
Hmm yeah that does look bad. I have the dry type of earwax (grey and flaky). I found this on Wikipedia, earwax: Quote: There are two distinct genetically determined types of earwax: the wet type, which is dominant, and the dry type, which is recessive. East Asians and Native Americans...- Ashkii21

Thread about gaming headphones (Again)
I am not sure which is better, they both may be good for gaming but with different sound signatures. I personally use the ATH-AD700 for my gaming. I do not have the HD555. I really like the soundstage the AD700s presents. I play l4d and cs:s. But I mainly use my headphones to listen to music...- Ashkii21

What do you like on your steaks?
When I lived in Argentina, I loved chimichurri on my steaks. Now that I am in AZ, I just use A1 sauce or mushrooms. I really do miss gnocchis, alfajores, media lunas and the siesta. Oh, and dulce de leche.- Ashkii21

Which amp should I get?
I own both and I like the E5. I still use my FiiO E5. My E3 just sits around collecting dust. Also if you have DC offset at your input, I do not think the E3 has caps to protect headphones from high DC offset. I plan on getting the E7 when it becomes available- Ashkii21

CMoy Pocket Amplifier: Is this a recommendable project for a raw newbie? Where can I find a DIY Kit?
I started DIY audio with a cmoy amp. I followed Tangent's guide (all of my cmoys use a radioshack protoboard). I've built several cmoys now each with bigger and better caps. Also all of my cmoys use just a single 9V battery. The opamps that I've used are the OPA2132, OPA2227, TLE2072, and...- Ashkii21

Alternative to Altoids tin?
I would think that it would be a very tight fit if you do not use a potentiometer and maybe use only external power. I do not think a 9V battery or a potentiometer would fit in there, that case seems too thin. The dimensions of an altoids tin is: Quote: It turns out that the little tin...- Ashkii21
