Review: Fischer Audio's DBA-02
Just chiming in after a couple of months of use to say that I'm very impressed by those tiny iems! They sound really great, and are so easy to put in, offer great isolation with simple flange tips, which makes them very comfy. Just had a listen at my SM3 which were gathering dust lately...- Photofan1986

The Fiio X3 Thread.
It has a much more powerful amp, but I'll take the risk and say that it does not sound noticeably better. That's my experience.- Photofan1986

R-50 or DBA-02 mkII?
I own the DBA-02 MK I and th SM3 v1. The latter has an imbalance problem, that's why I bought the DBA-02 to replace them. I'd say they are quite different. The SM3 has much more low end, and an emphasis on the lower mids, thus giving a much warmer sound. However, the bass is also quite slow in...- Photofan1986

Review: Fischer Audio's DBA-02
Using DBA-02 MKI here, for about a month now. I have used some really nice IEMS, SF5pro, IE8, SM3V1, Sony EX-600, RE-252...and well I can say I was blown away by the quality of those! I bought them for about 50€, and that is from far the best bang for buck I had since I entered high-end...- Photofan1986

HiFiMAN RE-600 Review
Hi Mark, I have a couple of questions: - How do the DBA-02 compare to those? I guess they are not even in the same league, but I would like you opinion. I own the RE-252, and while they're very proficient and technical (moreso than the DBA-02), I generally reach for the DBA because they...- Photofan1986

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!
Are you wearing glasses, by any chance? I noticed that when I wear my glasses, the earpads are not perfectly sealed on my ears, thus reducing the bass.- Photofan1986

The AKG K550 Impressions and Discussion Thread!
Hi, I bought mine a couple of days ago, and while I needed some time to get used to the bright sound sig (at least compared to my Senn HD555), I must say that I am very, very positively impressed. The headphones look very nice, are very well built and sound extremely well. For the price I...- Photofan1986

AKG K545 Review - K550’s little brother isn’t so little!
Thanks for the review. I just bought the K550 second hand, and I'm having a hard time getting a good seal, certainly with my glasses.- Photofan1986

The Fiio X3 Thread.
Does anyone know if the X3 is being recharged while being used as a DAC? I see the battery icon "working" so it seems like it is charging, but maybe it drains more current than the USB port can actually provide.- Photofan1986

No, the player does not feel snappier. Also, there still is an issue when doing a fast forward on a long track.- Photofan1986

[Impression] FiiO X3 – High Fi, Low Price.
I am absolutely not saying that. I am saying that for me, the Cowon sounds as good and has a better battery life (not nealy 10x, maybe the new D20).- Photofan1986

[Impression] FiiO X3 – High Fi, Low Price.
Got my X3 a couple of days ago. Well, I'm a bit disappointed, and here is why. While it certainly sounds good, I really can't tell it apart from my Cowon D2+, or the CIip+. It has much more power to drive some big cans, but as I don't have those and use mainly use IEMS, I don't really care. I'm...- Photofan1986

From Sony Ex Series to Sennheiser IE8s?
I own the EX-600 and IE8, and I would not say the IE8 is a definite upgrade. The Senn are warmer, and have a much thicker lower midrange compared to the Sony. There is probably more bass quantity on the IE8, but as far as quality goes, I think I would give the nod to the Sony. However, it...- Photofan1986

Mini Sony MDR-EX1000 review with comparisons.ex1
Nice first impression! I also own the IE8 and recently acquired the Sony EX600. I know they are not on the same level as the EX1000, but my observation are similar to yours. However, do you listen to your IE8 equalized? Because I always do, and I noticed that the veil is almost gone when you...- Photofan1986

JVC HA-FXT90 Thread
Regarding the soundstage of the EX600 compared to the IE8, I'd say the Sennheiser still have a larger soundstage, but the Sony have more air. There is more forward projection with the EX600, but as a result also maybe less immersion into the music, compared to the IE8.- Photofan1986

Sony EX 1000 or Shure SE535
Why not try the EX600 as they are quite a bit cheaper than the EX1000 and are said to have a very similar sound signature. Some people here say that the EX600 do about 90% of what the EX1000 can. I cannot comment though, as I've only heard EX-600, which I really like a lot.- Photofan1986

Sony MDR-EX600: Impressions Thread
I've been using the EX-600 for a couple of weeks now, and I can confidently say that they are one of my favourite "chillout" iem at home! They sound really great and are very comfortable. They have a very balanced sound (more note weight than the RE-252 and much clearer than IE8 thanks to the...- Photofan1986

About to pull the trigger on a pair of Sony MDR-EX600s
This review is a joke. They don't even listen to earphones they test, they only take measurements. I bought the EX600 a couple of days ago, and so far I like them a lot. They are much more balanced than my IE8, they are clear, fast and detailed, with a slight emphasis on upper midrange. In...- Photofan1986
