New Mexico Winter Meet (March 17, 2018)
Okay, we are go for launch. Someone promised to bring a 1/4" to 4 pin adaptor. I hope that is still good. We may need that. My amps only have the 4 pin setup so it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Alan will post the address soon. My driveway is the second one on the left. There is...- driguy

You can put more music on a USB stick than you will ever use so no need to compress. WAV or FLAC should do. If you want to be quick about it just drag and drop files.- driguy

New Mexico Winter Meet (March 17, 2018)
Am I interpreting your post correctly when I think that you will be wanting to plug your computer into the various systems to play music? If so, I would still go the USB route if you have your own software. From my experience at various meetings and shows, most folks play very few selections of...- driguy

New Mexico Winter Meet (March 17, 2018)
It's good to see a little fever building. I was beginning to wonder. I hope this will be fun for all. If anyone can bring a few folding chairs it would be good. I have some spaces that can be used for setups that would just need seating to work. It looks like Allan and I have worked out a 10AM...- driguy

New Mexico Winter Meet (March 17, 2018)
Power strips and the cables to power them will be welcome and needed. I cannot say how many will be needed but all that I have will be in service. I do have a few extension cords, two of which have 3 receptacles. Power strips are better to avoid tripping hazards. When the event gets closer I...- driguy

New Mexico Winter Meet (March 17, 2018)
Hello to all. My name is Tony for those who do not know me. I will be your host for the meet. There has been a slow response so far to this thread. If any of you know other head fi'ers you may want to email them directly to let them know about the meet as time is getting short to plan ahead in...- driguy

Albuquerque, NM meet: April 29, 2017!
I will not be attending the meet today with my amplifier. It is a rather beastly thing (about 70 pounds worth) and with the weather being what it is I do not want to risk the weather exposure. My apologies to all the members. Tony- driguy

Albuquerque, NM meet: April 29, 2017!
I will be bringing my newly finished 20b headphone amp. I may also bring my new solid state amp and a new electrostatic amp which uses BHSE boards but my own input stage modifications and an autoformer volume control. The last two amps will be going to Chicago with Ben so they may be sold before...- driguy

Albuquerque, New Mexico meet is on! April 30, 2016
Since we now have a final venue can we get the power cord length requirements and power strips needed for setup? It may be quite easy to overload a 15 amp circuit if we are not careful. There is quite a lot of gear showing up it seems. Tony- driguy

Official 2014 SoCal Head-Fi Meet, March 22, 2014, Westin South Coast Plaza
Hello Guys, What is your normal protocol for attendees bringing their own music and what format do they use? Earplugs: Are there any with higher than -29dB?
Can you tell us what they will be used for? The attenuation will be differ depending on frequency. I have a lot of experience with this as I worked in shipboard engine rooms for 23 years. Very high attenuation levels can lead to weird feelings of imbalance, isolation and a general sense of...- driguy

Chameleon DAC listening and modifications
Hi Rhodes, I see that you have the Tentlabs setup on the 12MHz clock in your photo album. How is that working out? I would not expect quite as much difference as on the upsampling card but maybe I am wrong. The reason I hope that I am is that I will have to spend about $300 to do the mod...- driguy

Quote: IMO & IME you do not need to bypass the Mundorf caps. I have used them as coupling caps in my preamp and they sound really nice. If they sound harsh you probably have issues elsewhere. Bypassing very high quality caps like this in the signal path is really not a good idea. I have...- driguy
